I like the "plastic toy" look of the ships. :P

I'm playing ven to have fun, not play military drone and the ships should look like that. There are already enough shiny-badass-hightech-pseudorealistic looking games out there. I just love it when a new palyer says: "This game is weird".

My suggestion, make ships more bouncy! :D

EDIT: gawd and don't forget ... there's a damn bunchie UFO!

Well I'm of the other camp mr_spuck, I agree that the ships art is not up to par with other games out there. But, I'd rather see more done with content then bitch about the ship art at this point, though at a later date when there is less to worry about with content and balancing and whatnot, I would like to see better ship art done, as well as station art and others stuff as well.

But players can hardly create a new mission algorithm or create a dynamic economy - if i remember the original 'idea' behind the thread was to reduce the load on the devs by coming up with spacecraft designs. I'm sure the devs would love it if someone came up with a 'mission design contest' thread as well.

Basically, this is content that players *might* be able to help with. It also serves as a good indication of what kind of ships players feel are appropriate for the factions etc.

I for one don't care too much about making the ships look like something from EV Nova or EVE or something. Remember that anything sticking out can be hit in this game, shape matters!

Also, we don't have engines. Stop saying that engines should look bigger or something, ships don't have engines like that in VO.

Priority one is to make the ships playable and usable.

I would definitely appreciate a more realistic feel to the ships rather than a cartoon look, this is a game for teenagers and up not 5th grade and down.

Please note that the devs did not say that they would put in any of these ships. I'm more fooling around at this point.

That said, I've made a large capital ship.

Docking bay is in the mid-fore of the ship, one on each side. It also has 2 forward mounted beam cannons, but I haven't added most of the turrets so far. Appologies for relatively low quality once again.

Well, get the Hive stuff done first. Oh, and the player widget crafting. And the new missions & the mission editor. And the....

Harrys designs look WAY better than the Wraiths and stuff we have now. Sorry Waylon, Harrys look more realistic and Deadly.
