Another possible solution would be to make the roid list scrollable.
I think this would work OK from a UI perspective but I have no idea if it's possible from a lua coding perspective.
This could also work for the target list so long as the list scrolled up/down automatically as you scrolled or selected a target. Having to use the mouse or a separate set of buttons to manually scroll through the list while in a fire fight could get explodey. ;-)
Not sure if this is asking too much or not.

with the new updates tonight (1/19/8) targetls is now putting the ship info in the middle of the screen.
I have a fix that should work for it.
In main.lua find this line, there are 2 of them.
iup.Append(HUD.secondarychatarea, hudinfo)
change them to this
iup.Append(HUD.alladdonlist, hudinfo)
Problem should be fixed.

New TargetLS idea: PINNED TARGETS
Pressing a "Pin" key places the current target at the top of the list. The pinned targets are always hilighted with a square on the radar even when another target is selected. There is a divider between pinned targets and the rest of the list. Pressing the "Pin" key for a target already pinned removes it from the pin list.
Advanced version: With a toggle switch, Target LS can auto-target the closest pinned target from a list of several pinned targets continuously while in battle.

Pinned idea would be nice if you could also set it to pin certain ships/names.
Crazy idea, but maybe if a pinned target which is being targeted exits target range, it would automatically target them again if they entered range again within a certain period of time?

Update to 1.5.9 to fix a minor config bug (shownpc wasn't saving between sessions). That's all that changed =)

I would sure like an option to only show hostile targets. Defining hostile as red dots on my radar, i.e if I change which ones are hostile with Makefriends this plugin should follow the changes. This could either be an option in the option-menu and/or a quick-toggle key.

I fixed the client as well. The update will be 1.8.3.1 when it comes out this weekend.
Update to 1.5.10 to fix this bug. Moda, you had an older version and should probably update as well as I have fixed other bugs :P

I didn't have the latest version either. That'll teach me! Well thanks anyway to moda, ray, and drazed.
You really should change your file naming to say exact version instead of just 1.5, now there are several versions with same file name out and that's just begging for trouble...
if you type /targetls ingame it will print out the version... just be sure that matches the latest version at the top of this thread and you should have no troubles =)
