Who knewq my post would change the topic so dramatically? I'm looking for comments on my ship. Please make soommmeeee!!!

teh1ghool: --I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to be honest here. On a positive note, you could possibly submit that model to Boeing or NASA, and see if they like it. But in reality, I feel that the model just doesn't fit nor would serve any purpose in Vendetta Online. Try again! (I'm not much of a modeler myself, mind you... so you can call me a hypocrite if you'd like)

the important poly figure is the number when converted to triangles. The model file type that Vendetta uses requires that polygons have no more than three vertices.

I thought there would be a comment like yours, Doukustu. Lol, I can see if NASA likes it. :P

I tried to toss all 5-point polys in my model so that there are only 3 and 4 points. I believe that it's about 600-700 triangles. Not too bad still, eh?

Of course you did. You asked a question, and I gave an answer. :P

no. No. NO. NOOOOOOOO!!!!! I will not let the longest existing thread in Vendetta history, (and one of my personal favorite threads), die!

/me pokes it with his wand of ressurection.

oh no no no, you have it all wrong, wacaday mk 10 was much much longer, and probably some others wacaday's too

This thread has also been dormant for much longer periods before, too. I haven't had the motivation or the time to work on a ship in a while, so it's still gonna be a while until I get another ship done.

*shrug*

I'm slowly working on my 3D modeling skills, hoping that one of these days I'll come up with something 'fresh,' or something 'hip and cool.' Of course... then it will probably take me a year to learn how to texture... Anyways, I'm trying to design a freighter - somewhere about 4x the size of the moth, maybe a bit bigger. Also working on a station defense drone (something kind-of spherical with mean nasty teeth).

Okay, so it has taken me a while to learn a whole lot about 3D art (which I had never touched before). I hope this is not too bad. I used Blender and just sort of guessed at the actual brownish-red Ineubis color.

Ineubis Defensor
Ineubis FS +600; 8/6/-/-/-; 2000 HP; 1 cu; 1S; 6m (length)
1000kg; 75 N (90 N turbo); 75 m/s; 3.0 Nm; 210 m/s; 80/s

....it's a ball...
Nov 15, 2005 icbm1987 link
I love it!

Little Ineubis Balls of doom!

But... some idiots are going to get the idea to fly two of these in formation with a prom or atlas... or Moth... annnnnd.... yeah
Nov 16, 2005 LostCommander link
Yes, it is a ball, the most volume/surface area shape of all. And, icbm1987, do you mean to suggest that this ship might actually encourage people working together? That sounds like a good thing to me.
Nov 16, 2005 The Noid link
That ball should have an insane turning rate!

You could make a cargo version by welding some balls together... Then traders finally have something to talk about, who's balls are the biggest :D
Nov 16, 2005 LostCommander link
The death ball DOES have an insane turning rate - 128.6% that of a Valkyrie. That is most of what it has going for it, actually; that, acceleration, and sub-turbo top speed.

Um... LC... yeah...

People working together with questionable motives... hehe...

I know that I for one would not want to pilot something more maneuverable than an unladen Valk. Insane means just that - insane. I can see something like that as a stationary gun in space, but not as a means for transportation.

Okay, here's a (pretty bad) basic model of my Serco Gunboat design:

Made in Wings3d.

Huh! I actually like the concept, DK. Could definitely stand to be a little more "sculpted", take some pointers from HS. But I think you're on to something with the design.
