Dont forget that centaurs are half horse...
lmao person...
bloody ananzi

Harry, the only thing about the Erinyes that I don't particularly like is the way the material stretches on what looks to be missle bays, any way you could just add in a few cylinders instead?
imo if people are actuall serious about getting anything they make into tha game, they ought to follow the directions laid out right over here: http://design.vendetta-online.com/wiki/index.php?title=Creating_Ships
to about as exactly as they are laid out. i particularly like this quote:
Like most games, our art begins at a concept stage. In the case of this ship, the art was conceived and originally concepted by Waylon Brinck, who later went on to actually model and texture the entire ship. The process here is one of brainstorming, coming up with a cool idea, articulating it on paper, showing it to the would-be art director (pretty much me, John, aka "Incarnate"), getting reactions and pros and cons, then either re-drawing it differently or getting approval for modeling. Usually at this phase there's a lot of drawings of various types, the best shapes are chosen for "final" concepting, then the best of those are chosen to actually be made into ships. Other game companies don't do it quite like this, but we did for the Prometheus.
ya see? send inc a whole bunch of sketches, and dont waste your time modeling stuff he wont like. ya got a better chance of gettin yer stuff into tha game 'f ya do it their way than if you do it your way.

Gavan:
It's 1540 Polys. The model you see there has had every edge beveled, just to make it look a little nicer in OpenGL & Wings, but if you want to see it with edges defined:

It also has some extra detail that isn't needed at all (see cannons). I expect I could bring it below the 1500 easily enough.

stupid little kids...

I thought about doing that, but that adds to the poly count BIG time. Alternatively, I could go for half-missile banks, and the rest being a vent or something.
who? me?:
I prefer modeling over texturing, and I'm very very competent in Wings. I prefer to model, because that way if something needs changing, I don't have to redraw it, plus it's cleaner-looking. And, I don't have a working scanner set up. I have one, but the HP drivers are borked, and printing and copying is good 'nuff for me without an afternoon of hassle.

I like it! It looks kind like a Centaur that swallowed a Vulture and a Valk!

One possible name could be the "Centurie"!
[/satire]
Seriously, though, great design! I hope Inc accepts it!

I dunno... Inc said that he's trying to move away from "airplane-like" designs. It might be worthwhile to come up with things that move away from the more "conventional."
Like, I have this great gunboat design that is pretty darn far from being an airplane, but it's pretty complicated to model. I'm trying to work out ways of simplifying the design.

I like your evil looking ships Harry.

I must have missed that.
