ladron mentioned that perhaps making the following requirements for buying certain ships would not be too hard. Knowing that a faction redux is on the way, I think the following would be great to implement right away.
Greyhound, CV, CorMaud: must be KOS with Serco and Itani nations, as well as home nation (Bi-nation KOS for Serco/Itani, Tri-nation KOS for those poor UIT).
IBG, Valk (all flavors): must be KOS with the Serco nation.
SVG, Prom (all flavors): must be KOS with the Itani nation.
As far as I can tell, UIT shouldn't impose any restrictions.
Will there be a lot of butthurt, tri-nation POS traders? Of course. But it's high time they either focused on trading, or took a side in order to fly these supposedly unique, special combat and RP oriented ships.

I still like the tri-Hated idea for special access to Corvus stuff rather than native hated. You're forgetting that it's possible for people to switch sides and keep the label of their old native nation.

Maybe the Warthog TD should require being at least disliked by Corvus? Then again, it would need a substantial buff to justify cutting off access to Corvults/Cormauds (then again...)

I agree with making UIT special gear not obtainable for people with high Corvus standing, and that the poor TD needs a serious buff. I think it should be more of a combat, rather than speed, oriented Hog. But that's another thread entirely.
Yeah, I'd like to see more WTDs flying the skies. Give it a built-in addon scanner, up armor to 12000, up max non-turbo speed to 70/s, non-turbo thrust to 300 N, turbo thrust to 310 N then Spin torque 8 Nm? How is that?
Like I said, that's another thread.
there is no way a hog is going to be faster then most vultures all valks and on par with ibgs and rev-cs speed wise
I also think we should implement something similar to this with Axia and Valent stuff given that Valent would be given some better stuff.
Sounds promissing.
Really makes no sense see a serco flying a Valk... or a smurf on a Prom. One have to choose a side.
Apply also same rules for Valent/Axia (few) specials. Maybe also TPG/(Corvus+XX).
How that would related to all-desired GRAY nation? Applies Corvus requirements? Or a new set of rules?
And about tri-hated, Corvus is the "legal" arm of the "dark side", they must welcome those with good relations with other nations. Much like the Sinn Féin//IRA relation. Or else, what would prevent nations or TPG from simply obliterate Corvus? They must be officially against any forms of piracy. So I don't like the tri-hated, instead, elect TPG as Corvus' opposite.

uh cause corvus is the illuminati of vo? and not a bunch of drunk irish dudes?
Stop calling us the "gray nation!" We're a syndicate of criminals and pirates at best if not an anarchy (which is why they call the actual existing "gray nation" "unaligned"), you make it sound like we're petitioning for a goddamn seat in the Carebear UN.
Ok for me, Tank, where it says Gray nation, read "Unaligned". On banned. Or degraded faction. Or Pink nation. Or consider that a concept more related to game engine, real-world, instead of RPG-wise.
Peytros, follow the link, then explain me how is that related to Illuminati...

If your English wasn't so terribly poor, maybe you'd have read the various background stories and learned that that didn't go so well for them before.

Corvus is a black market run by a criminal syndicate. Special ships that are designed and intended for illegal activity and that are produced and sold by Corvus should absolutly be restricted to those who live well outside the law. I think native KOS is sufficent for that, but could se bi-nation, including native, KOS working too. I think tri-nation KOS is unrealistic.

With enough money, anyone should be able to obtain Corvus ships.
By that logic, with enough money, anyone should be able to buy any ship and any weapon at Corvus. That's not how it works now, and it will never work that way.
Corvus, like all intelligent and successful groups, knows there are things more important than a fast buck from anyone looking to buy. Maybe VO does need a pure arms merchant, who will sell anything to anyone for a price. Corvus is not such a simplistic entity.

Corvus is in fact a "front" company that is not very picky who thier customers are. Any weapon or ship should in fact be availible from corvus with the price determined by both corvus faction and the ability of the buyer to obtain the item elsewhere.
Yes Corvus would sell a Prom to an Itani they hate but its gonna cost them 100 times the normal price.
They may even charge for "free" buses at times - its called extortion!
Corvus really wont care if your KOS with anyone and basing the availibility on a KOS rating is downright silly. Corvus is not at "war" with any other faction that I am aware of. Granted Corvus may not like some factions but that would only affect the price.

"IBG, Valk (all flavors): must be KOS with the Serco nation.

Do this ASAP.

PaK, aside from your interest in not having to make choices about the gear you get access to, I haven't heard any intelligent articulation of why Corvus will sell anything to anyone, no matter their affiliation.
Corvus already requires standing to buy things, so they aren't just interested in credits. But like the Serco/Itani, they should also be interested in who else someone has high standing with. If you want to have high Itani standing and access to IBGs/Valks, it's obvious that you should have to be KOS with Serco. Corvus, on the other hand, is technically the enemy of all organized nations -- and they should not look kindly on those who dedicate their existence to fighting lawlessness/pursuing order trying to have access to their best stuff.

Freakin me out guys.
This gives pirates access to the best ships; they have the Corvus ships by default and have their preference on which nation ships they want.
Why wouldn't the black market sell to Serco or Itani? Our credits are just as valid as a pirates, and we probably kill fewer of their station guards.
Throw us a bone, we do most of our pvp next to Corvus stations. How many jumps is it from b8 to Initros (or Jallik)? It would uber suck to make that trip every time someone blows me up, which happens frequently.

rg10 makes a good point. Tri-nation KOS for Corvus it is.

Too fucking bad. This would promote more traffic, rather than everyone mindlessly hanging out in Sedina, and would also encourage diversity in ships flown. People who want to be nationalists will be commuters or, just maybe, populate Deneb for PvP.
