So he's contributing some good-looking Serco models, what's-his-name contributed those TPG/UIT models, who's going to contribute some Itani models?
I'm planning on that after I've finished my Serco stuff.
If this guy can continuously produce ships and do it in step with VOs requirements... I vote the Devs at the very least make him "Head intern in charge of ships".

I have a question: Are tiling texture packs allowed for capships? If they are, I can probably whip up a few textures in a few days and cube map 'em. If they aren't, carry on.

104 meters, 1976 out of ~2100-2200 tris. Ideas for the bottom would be welcome, it needs some vertical, visual balance. I also need to know if I need to add a docking bay to this guy. If so, could anyone post screenshots of the Trident's, if it has one, and the HAC's?

that's probably the coolest capship in VO. The current ones are painfully simple, but that looks like it actually has some neat aspects about it, i.e. several windows, etc.

I like it too... seems functional design, compact and strong. And it reminds me the tridents style!
HACs and Teradons does not have docking bays, so, as current implementation, will not be player-owned. I expect that connies come after tridents, but not these 2.
The dockling bay is that white cube in lower-back end of tridents:

What about something on the side, for assymetry? The Infinity Intrepid class has a side dock.

I like the assymetric side entrance... but it is more logical to dock in same direction majov vehicle is heading, easier to match speeds...
Why don't you add that box you did on bottom or top of ship, opening it backwards instead of above, and adding a "command deck" ahead of it? sideways, ascii:

4 turrets, better defended from backwards, flanks not covered. And it would fit a great role as an "Armoured Freighter" or "Combat Support ship" like this one.

If this is more of a combat support and logistics vessel than a frontline combat vessel, I think some antennae to boost communications ability would be in order:

I'm still waiting know whether or not I can make and use tiling texture packs on this.

I truly hope the devs get these in game.
So do I, but my main goal right now is to get them good enough to qualify. And my ain concern right now concerning this and all future capships is whether or not I'm alowed to make and use use tiling texture packs.

You're right about the Teradon, but the HAC does have a docking bay. I haven't docked with a HAC in a long time so I don't remember precisely where, but I think it was positioned so that the open end was facing forward.

I wonder how having a docking bay on the side would affect docking with a moving/turning capship. Attempting to dock with a Trident at full-turbo can be pretty challenging sometimes, especially in a heavy, missile-laden Ragnarok.

I've only got like 15, 30 minuets left on my trial, and I've only got an EC-101 (or what ever the fighter version of the bus is). The only reason I know about Deneb is throught the wiki and the backstory.
