We're looking at a NEW ship, not a variant of an existing one. It should not be linked to the behemoth family because it sure as hell does not represent one in any way.

The main thing bugging me about this model is the rear portion of the pipe. Maybe instead of going straight back and doing a 90 degree turn, it could go straight 3/4 of the way, then go at an angle the rest of the way. Otherwise it seems like it sticks out kind of far. But that's just my two credits.

Hmm, maybe also reduce the smoothness of the round items on the ship and spend those triangles on putting weapon mounts on the sides.

Indeed. I have no intention on replacing the Behemoth. This is a new ship.

Trust me about the roundness, I made it a function of the diameter of the parts, some of them are even deliberatly low-poly. The tank, which is largest, has only 20 sides.

How do I represent Weapon mounts?

The forward-pointing antenna-things on the existing ships are supposed to be weapons.

I'll have to make my own versions, but I think I remember Incarnate saying he and the other Devs would place the weapons themselves, to make sure they're balanced and stuff.

Good news is that I've started getting the UV map set up. Bad news is that it's gonna take a while before I can even BEGIN to put textures on this

I like the design, don't get me wrong, I could never work with 3D images honestly and I admire your input to the game.
Keep at it, I'm sure your designs can go a long way in the development of this game.

Terran, keep up the good work. If you can meet all of gs requirements theres no reason why the devs wouldnt accept your ship.

I've set the UV islands, and I'm in the process of manipulating them into a UV map. Bear with me, I'm usually just a modeler/concept artist, so I'm not too terribly good with UVing yet.

UV mapping is like tking a REALLY complex box and making it flat, so you can put complex textures on it. To do this, you have to cut it into pieces. Each piece of the box is a UV island, and you draw your texture on it. All of the UV islands put together is the UV map.
