Holy F**K My Rev C went from 1285c to 51499c?!? A 4000% increase.

Hahahahahahahaaaa. Well, now that's definitely something that SHOULD have happened, but now that it's reality, I'll have to just die a lot less. Oh well.

Gonna be sitting in the bar a bit more now, Leebs? :P

No, now everyone will turn tail and run before they lose their ship.

Now it will actually say something about the pilots who don't.

I suggest the RevC, IBG, and SVG/Vulturius/XT be dropped to 25k.

Any pirate that flies a rev c should class themselfs as a PvP person, not a pirate. (cos rev c's suck at chasing)

Hog Mk 2 or Vult Mk3 is cheaper, and easy to fix anywhere. (and they rule at chasing, and are cheap, and good at pvp)

Grow up, losers.

Wanna fly a Prom round for cheap? don't bring it to grey space, wanna fly a Valk for cheap? take it to deneb, long term people, not "now".

Goodbye Space Quake.

And a well welcomed death, IMHO.

with combat mission barely paying enough for a drink at the bar, what's the incentive t go to war? with the price of these ships, we'll now be forced to mine half our time.

upper case: I said, on the previous page, that BS is going to start giving out free ships, and we'll adjust other combat benefits accordingly. It's like everything else, we're going to have to balance things as we move forward. But if we're getting people to start caring about money, that's a step in the right direction.

"I suggest the RevC, IBG, and SVG/Vulturius/XT be dropped to 25k."

A TGFT, council, complaining about prices? In my VO?
Surely you jest!
Oct 11, 2008 Surbius link
I do not, I'm simply stating a need to drop those prices. The current price ruins much of people's fun.

c'mon chaps . VO , like RL is in a state of flux, if old folk like me can hit the ground running and adapt then the rest of you can. Put your tin hats on and live with it ....

Seriously, VO is an experiment. Have a bit of faith . Ask not what VO can do for you : ask what you can bring to VO. Just grab a ship and get in game, ignore stats, sod money, fly for the sheer hell of it .....

What davejohn said.

And Incarnate, don't adjust benefits and rewards too much. Part of the beauty of this price increase is the added layer of challenge and long-term gameplay.

"ask what you can bring to VO"
$9.99-$159.99USD
Therefore, people should ask what VO can do for them. Also, saying "sod money" is easy when you've got billions in your bank account.

Aaaanyway...I guess it had to be done. However, I sure hope the new missions are fun enough to be worth the time, I'm very reluctant to the idea of having to mine and trade to get more money. Though, there's always the possibility of winning the NW...

Mining and trading is no fun! Forcing me to do these activities in order to PVP does not make me happy. I also do not look forward to some repetative botting mission for cash to PVP. I say either credit us well for PVP kills or drop some prices.

If you think that the RL stock market drop is big, the hyperinflation of the high end PVP ship market has diluted my cash by 90%!

Aren't repair costs absurdly high now?
Oct 12, 2008 Infinitis link
Yes, they are. I can live with new ship prices but I (ideologically) think that the repair prices should be lower to make a difference and benefit to repairing and staying alive.

Moreover, when repairing in the field would come to play more importantly now, I propose making new repair module suited for small port. It might be repairing far less than the big port ones but it has to be pretty lightweight add-on.

Now get ahold of yourselves people. I am speaking to LostCause in particular.

Running doesn't save you any damn money. Repairs cost just as much as a new ship. Get shot to 50% twice and repair it, and you have just paid the same amount as a new hull minus the guns (which are a fairly trivial cost at this point). Running will only increase among those who are both honorless AND math class dropouts.

The only way to save your dimes now is to truly never get shot.
