PvP is cool, endless loops of death are not. I'm all for anything that gets rid of the fight, die, buy preset, back in 5 seconds, fight, die, rinse repeat. SpaceQuake=Boring We need more missions, and mission types, that involve NPC AND PC's in them. Longer missions strings, epic missions, pretty much everything that's been in suggestions for the past 3 years. All this will help with the spacequake effect.

AND, VO still needs a money sink, this kills two birds with one stone to a point. Those who are millionares this will only slightly effect. But the fact that you can buy under your level means that you should be paying a higher price. Perhaps only slightly increase the price per item now, but for anyone with a lower license the price is trippled or is multiplied by the number of levels still needed to get the item legitimately.

IMHO

The whole combat needs a major revamp, it should be much harder to lose a ship, and, even harder to acquire a new one

combats among players should take much more time, ships should lost parts and systems should break, and, they should cost money to the player to repair

All soon(tm) :D Won't affect me much, I'm a flare totting Valkjock now. The price increase in grey, I mean.

If you mean Grey as in *only Grey space factions* Like Xang XI, Corvus, Inuebis, Tung, Aeulos(sp), then whatever, but the TPG and Orion stations in Grey should remain cheap! :P

NOOO!

ships can cost more like, 15k but never, NEVER make it too hard of a loss, it'd kill the PVP of this game.

Dude, you are doing this backwards, starting in the wrong end. You can not take away the (for many people, including me) most appealing part of the game (PvP) without offering anything in return.

Come back when we have user-piloted cap ships, crafting, mission campaigns, and user-conquerable stations and systems. Then it's worth discussion, right now it would be plain stupid (all IMHO of course).

And for that matter, after the weapon drop patch, you can have ships that are hard to replace, which is great because some items actually become worth a lot. I have a dual hive posi prom that I take out only for very, very special occasions, for example (because getting new hive posis is extremely tedious).

I see where you're going, but it's not what we need atm. The only thing that will fix the "Space Quake" feel of the game is content. As for a money sink, I wouldn't worry too much about it. The devs know the economy has been broken for a while. They may just do an econ reset once they get it working. Until they reach Vendetta 2.0, I think it's almost necessary to have it easy to make money and difficult to lose it.

**** NO!

I learned PvP because it was no hassle to buy a ship if I got killed.

All it does is force people to run more. And while that might seem fine with you Ayn, but most of us like to finish our kills.

Plus, Space Quake is what makes VO unique. If you want story go buy one of the thousands of generic medieval RPGs, or download the EVs, or something. SQ = VO, SQ > All, *therefore* VO > All.

SQ>All my ass, nor is VO>All, it does have GREAT potential, it's just too bad that it will never be fully realized. It COULD be the greatest game ever.

Shaddup johnhawl.

VO OWNS ALL!!!

Anyway, besides the obvious horribibleness of this idea, it would give us older players a HUGE advantage because we've had years to practice, and n00bs wouldn't even HAVE a way to practice.
