Look, I have to rely on people's honesty in situations like this. Don't post unless you have a legitimate claim. I'm sure you'll work something out in order to avoid a King Solomon-like solution.

I have a legitimate claim. Plucking someone out of the ranks and making them CO based on a single forum post is scary. Surely there could have been some kind of effort made to ensure that it wasn't just a takeover attempt. As the highest ranking active member of the guild you could have at least asked him to come through me for the request.

I appreciate what you do here, I really do, but please be careful. As it is I don't have a problem with Gavan, but it could have been a disaster.

I have no way of doing as you ask. I have no access to your email addresses, no way of knowing who is active anymore, no easy way to identify alts, no resources, etc..

In hindsight, I should have told him to summon somebody else from the guild to post in his support as I have done in the past. I regret that I didn't, and I do apologize. Of course then he could have said "They're all dormant", or somebody could claim that, although they have a different screen name, they own a character that has the true claim to command.

My solution, for now, is to deny all requests to change Commanders without approval from that guild's brass. If nobody can be found, then we'll need to take it up with the devs.

Jolly Roger is again Commander. You all can post here when you get yourselves sorted out.

Sorry Whistler, didn't mean to put you in an awkward position. Having not seen any council online since I came back I assumed they were all in-active and the guild was all but dead. Anyhoo, sorry for the mess.

Changing the CO *again* is most definitely not what I was looking for. All I wanted was for you to not be so reckless with guild appointments. Gavan, Death Incarnate and myself are the only Council members (and up) that have been on since January. Obviously Gavan wants himself to be CO, and I want him appointed CO as well. I have no idea what Death Incarnate's views are.

I have provided an explanation, an admission of my error, an apology, an explanation of how I will remedy the situation in the future, and a short-term solution given that clear instructions as to who should be commander were not offered at the time.

It seems reasonable to have Death Incarnate post as well. I will add a MoD to direct him here. {Done}
