Surb, there is nothing unfounded about the claims of people being spied upon. Are you denying that the plugin reports data on every ship it encounters? This is a simple objective fact that anybody can verify by simply reading the main.lua file in the plugin.

Maybe you meant to use a word like "unjustified". It's the difference between saying their reason doesn't even exist, and that their reason is inadequate. An important distinction, because it also makes the difference between you being a deceitful ass, and simply employing a different ethical framework.

Yes to unjustified? Sure. No to unfounded? If it's up to the second reporting of locations, which I haven't seen this outside of a few other plugins, okay. But, if the location reports have to be manually called up based on player or location, the most that information can do is give the user a general idea of the region of space someone might be in or certain times of the day they might be on, then you're having a hard time convincing me that this is more intrusive than someone that watches the sector list and takes mental notes on who is there.

One person taking mental notes is a lot different than many people reporting these sightings back to an entire network which your enemies can refer to whenever they want.

If I weren't in TGFT and saw how the data on this plugin was handled, I would think TGFT is the most benign guild in VO given it's size, recognition, and potential with data it can pile up. TGFT is only hostile to you if you're hostile to it. So with that stated, you're more likely to be actively spied on from the IRC relay bot than from a TGFT plugin. If you don't want it don't use it, there are plenty of plugins that can replace the functionality of this plugin.

No, I'm simply surmising the most logical explanation for your claim under the presumption that it was true. The explanation appears to insult your reading/writing level only because your claim was false -- i.e. you lied about what you said (which anyone reading this can clearly see). Trying to deflect this revelation in your typical manner by tossing 3rd grade level insults only goes to undermine your credibility further.

That said, no, I'm not deflecting anything. I acknowledged that I could have worded it better to make the distinction more clear. On top of that, regardless if I did or did not use the plugin, or if I did lie about this or that, none of this has any bearing on my original points. My credibility has nothing to do with the plugin's nature. You're essentially throwing up red herrings and attempting to oust me as a malicious person instead of directly addressing my points. Surbius, I don't know you, never talked to you, never passed you. You may be as you describe your guild but I assure you there are members of your guild who are quite aggressive and dangerous to traders at least.

I was making cargo runs in and out of latos i8 about a week ago when a TGFT pilot started bombing the turrets. I just went about my business making my runs until there were maybe three turrets left. I then asked said pilot for a key when he was done. I didn't think this was going to be an issue, being a member of a neutral trade guild. I was told by the TGFT pilot that I only get a key if I help him bomb the turrets. I think we exchanged a few more words on the subject, nothing to even remember. I did not want to bomb turrets, I was told by guild leadership not to. The mistake I made was to repair a turret while he was out of the sector. He blew up my ship, we exchanged insults, I thought it was over.

I logged in the next day to find that I was no longer in a guild. It took me many days to track down the right people to talk to and find out what happened after my ship being destroyed.

I'm a believer in the idea that to have any sort of moral authority a response needs to be in proportion to the action. That is why I thought the incident was over after I logged off.

My action, I repaired a turret in a contested zone. I'll agree it was a mistake to do. TGFT pilot's response was to blow up my ship, then to go find another member of my guild and blow up his ship, then threaten my guild leadership with TGFT KOS standing for my entire guild if I was not expelled immediately. In my opinion that TGFT member is behaving contrary to your assertion I quoted at the beginning of this message. It would not be so bad if the TGFT player was not a member of the TGFT council.
