I reported you in the police channel (or whatever they call it) and then laughed stating why would I pay 1 million CR when I only lost 3000 cr.
You happen to be in the channel and went on a huge rant how you would of lowered it to 30,000 which my reply was that is still overpriced. I was going off this thread here where pirates claim to make profitable settlements which apparently is not the case.
Was about write out all other inaccuracies, but just not worth my time.
to those wishing to get on list its pretty easy. Just don't cry when you die and when they Pm you point out the price was way higher then what it cost to come back alive that just really makes them mad.

Anyway, if the time it took you to fly to Grey, the money to replace your cargo and ship, etc. don't all add up to 15-20k, then yes, you're going to die. Call it unreasonable if you will, but that's life.

I never want to be offered the privilege of buying survival because I don't want to have to have the privilege of being pirated in the first place. Is that still bad?

Even though I, CrazySpence tease pirates to no end of my joy, My other character has paid pirates before
and they said kill your engines or die, I killed me engines and didnt die. so I doubt you were blown up 3 seconds after stopping. when you stop they usually expect money, or rockets.
then other me paid them and went on my way. So the system works (for my other char). Just not for CrazySpence!

May as well put me on there, on the odd chance you DO see me in game, I've never paid pirates and could use the combat practice seeing as I am quite out of it. Last group of pirates I fought were the sector bots (namely Furball) around sector 9

Wait, so if one of these people paid you, you would not accept it and give them their money back? :P
If one of those people paid, I would accept the payment and not shoot them, provided that they paid the correct price. I would honor that payment for 20 minutes or until they left the sector, whichever occurred first. If I attack a ship without asking for a passage fee first, the price is assumed to be 1 million. However, if I attack a ship without asking for payment, there's a very small change that the pilot would have time to pay between the time I open fire and the time he wakes up in a cloning vat somewhere.

I could just consider the list fair warning and keep the fool's money, but I probably wouldn't--though I'm not flying out of my way to return it, either.

Thereafter, you get a chance in game: doesn't matter whether you care about your ship/cargo that first time you're caught after asking to be taken off the list or not, you'd best play the game if you don't want to wind up on here with an asterisk.
What I will not tolerate under any circumstances is someone wanting to thumb their nose at RP the 99% of the time that they don't care about the time/money/cargo/special rig/mission that they have tied up in their ship... but who wants to be allowed to pay that 1% of the time it does matter to them. You can either pay all the time, or you can die all the time.

It's about long-term pirate goals, Mecha. I understand you never thought much further ahead than how you could choke your next rail shot, though, so I'm cutting you some slack here.
Everyone on this list (and like, half of everyone else in the game) lives and dies by my whim. Paying definitely sways the odds in your favor, but if you screw around, you're getting smote.
