Neither you nor Strat trade. Plus, Strat, as a [VPR] cur, is already KOS no matter what he's doing.

Roda, I'm not sure on your alignment these days...usually I give other pirates who are hauling weapons into Grey or building faction or whatnot a professional courtsey pass. But if you're just a freelancer, I suppose you're fair game when trading. If you'd rather be attacked without a hail, instead of given the chance to pay a reasonable rate for safe passage, I'll put you up there.

For what it's worth, when trading I'm happy to pay for safe passage in the event I run across a pirate who's not big on granting freebies. The credits aren't a big deal, since I'm always doing it to build faction anyway, and it makes everyone happy. I get to carry on with my business and the pirate is all happy.

but me likes to hail : )

Oh, I'll still give em a good old fashioned "The Void awaits."

But that doesn't mean there's going to be a negotiation :D

I am not a pirate, contrary to the claims of the trigger happy guilds that have managed to offend me.

I don't pay. I don't ask for payment from traders I don't war. Boom me, and I will hunt you. Ask how that is working out for clm.

Correct me if I am mistaken. You are chrn. Tumble does not know how to let bygones be bygones. I war chrn. Perhaps best you just boom me, or attempt to do so, or run and hide like tumble and most other chrn.

I am not a pirate ... I don't pay.

Thank you, that's all I needed to know.

As for war, hunting, and all that jazz: you and I have had several relatively recent exchanges in B-8. And I seem to recall that you fared the worse in a few more of those encounters than did I.

Ecka: Haha, nice.

Anyway, I have a new addition to the list:

serp: Refused to pay 100000 for a very heavy behemoth he was having trouble launching in Latos. After I liberated his 120 cu of Locust Swarms, he informed me that he would rather die than pay and continued to whine about it for a little while, generally making a fool of himself.
Oct 27, 2009 Dr. Lecter link
100k for an obviously weapon-laden moth? You're really nice.

120cu of locust swarms sold for what, ~1.5 million credits? :D

Anyway, he's up there.

wow, wouldnt pay 100k for 1.5 mil of weapons….

I'm never carrying anything at least when I'm being cheap!

Hey, I never said he was a bright one ; )

And yes, I'm nice sometimes. I like to give people a pretty fair deal the first time I meet them. Unfortunately for him, he chose to blow it.

That pretty much sums up the whole point of this list for me.

Never paying is a myth. It is a myth perpetuated by players who have been playing far longer than others and have far more money than new players ever will. They do not care about the cost of profit losses, ship losses, travel times and would rather die. They cut off the nose to spite the face and they like it that way.

THEY CARE NOTHING FOR YOU.

New players are indoctrinated in this way and close off for themselves the lucrative trade routes available in grey space for a small passage fee. Some players already understand this and pay happily for their passage. Others never try as they are stuck in the mythos constructed to keep them stuck in nation space.

RESIST THE PROPAGANDA!

Accept the call for larger profits by trading in grey space. Pay your local pirate!

(This has been a public service announcement)

Seriously: serp is a fairly new player, and yet he wasted ~1,600,000 credits when he could have traded all night for 100,000 credits in a passage fee.

to pay or not to pay. it is a matter of preference. if you don't want to have to run or dodge, just pay, or stay out of grey. if you like a little challenge and excitement... tell em to fly a kite.
Oct 28, 2009 Dr. Lecter link
I fail to see how anyone will get challenge or excitement out of giving an armed and ready opponent the finger while one is wallowing about the station exit port in a helpless cow of a ship. Death will be swift and inevitable.

If you like a little challenge and excitement, pay the 100k, get your mothload of swarms wherever you need to get it, and use the profits to buy a lot of combat ships.

You'll probably need them.

Why pay? It is rare I run accross a rat more then once a day unless I am in sedina. And not all rats Honor the deal either . A few have boomed me after payin.

Most loads and ships just are not worth payin to protect and it just encourages people to pirate more.

Only an idiot would fly a moth of chaos in grey without escort, and they deserve to die.

I have killed pirates with a moth. it is exciting. and humorous.

i have killed traders with a moth, now that's fun
Oct 28, 2009 Dr. Lecter link
I've killed both traders and VPRs with a moth on the same run. I agree it is funny as Hell.
