Poll: Why did you choose the nation you did?

Presently it seems the serco are always outnumbered. I wonder exactly why people are choosing the nation they do, and there's a thread over in suggestions about the imbalance. So post here:

1. Your nation
2. Why you chose that nation (IE - Backstory, Color, Just randomly)

For me:

Nation: Itani
Reason: I liked blue back in alpha.

1 - Serco
2 - Way way way back in alpha there was a blue griefer who was harassing a Red friend of mine and i couldnt hurt him. (at the time i was blue) Once the test progressed a bit more I just ended up sticking with red, which became serco at some point. I stay with serco because most of the alphas who remain are Serco. (where did all the Itani and Gold/NT/UIT alphas go anyway?)

UIT - Seemed like a nice neutral nation. Got to trade and deal with other factions easily and am now -1000 KOS with UIT thank you very much. :D

Serco - Because there aren't any serco online.

I started out as an blue, because that was the default.
Then, after a while, someone mentioned that I should switch over to red, which I liked for it's small size anyway, so I switched away.

Gold because green wasn't available and I like to be different. Most games I've played have red and blue as the primary teams and then like gold or green. Also gold was listed last and I generally attept to join the team with the lowest population.

Of course like the rest of the Alphas I don't count sense we didn't have any back story or much nation history to go by. It was a long time before I could remember which color was Serco and which was Itani, seems pretty silly now.

Long live Gold Nation!

Serco

Because back then your nation color was also your ship color, and the Vulture looks SO GOOD in red.

I chose Red not Serco too.

Red till I die, then I may change colour.

Lessee... First I was blue, then I was gold, then I was blue, then I was UIT, then I was Itani, and now I'm Serco. As for reason... Meh, dunno.

Was Gold in alpha, but changed over to serco to help CTC

Itani.

A shot in the dark really. I created the charact6er during the 8 hour free trial post beta and basically stuck with it.

Suits my personality too. I'm not a predatorial type.

Serco.
Cause of the backstory.

Red, because after three weeks in 2002, I got sick of being blue.

itani, because light fighters (valks) sounded more appealing than heavy fighters (proms) or trading/mining ships (mauds).

Serco (all personas are Serco and always will be)

Chosen because Serco/The Red Nation was seemingly under represented at the time I joined (July 02, 2003 or so). Always root for the underdog. GO TEAM!!!

Some things never change.

Itani - they looked like *resistants* in the backstory

Serco - I'm war like in real life soooo...

Then later Itani - Just to have some fun, (this was back when the Itani could not win CtC to save thier lives) now I'm still itani so I can kill every one, still get the prom, and hang in gold space. To this day it says I'm Itani but I'll always be Serco at heart.

Itani
I was originally Serco, but I wanted to join the trader guild TFV. So I switched over to Itani so I could get some free money from the leader of the guild who was also Itani :D

1. Itani
2. Blue nation was prettier. Then I developed a sense of national loyalty that kept me blue, even when all of my friends switched nations. I've never been non-blue (aside from minor secondary colors), as a matter of fact.
