Poll: Why did you choose the nation you did?

tkjode, I have played Vendetta for over a year now and I have ONE character: LeberMac, Itani.

I created ScurvyMac around September JUST for "talk like a pirate day" and I leveled him a little bit recently in order to be a productive pirate - hard to be dangerous when yer flyin a govbus. Obsidian needed pirates for her event. So I obliged, although I wasn't very successful at it. It's more fun to yap from the station as ScurvyMac. (Hey - ScurvyMac is even in a pirate guild! [BDC]!)

But I'm always LeberMac. No alts. Don't want 'em. Don't need 'em. Plus Leveling up ScurvyMac was painful for me. Oh, the tedium! So, for me it's more a point of laziness - taking another month or so to level up another alt will just be boring.

ufoman's fault, Alkon.

Hehe, ScurvyMac was awesome. But I will say that leveling alts does make me remember what made the game so much fun when I first started. It's still fun once you hit level 9 or 10 and stuff, but you just have to look to different places than killing bots...

Well, my character's story is whacky.... seeing as he's been a member of each of the nations at some point

1. Serco
He had a mission to do for the Akanese. Wearing an Akanese uniform and cursing at them with racial epthets would have been detrimental to his mission
(OOC: I liked the Serco war machine "I'll roll over you" short description)

2. Itani ("Akanese")
He completed his mission and came back to being who he truly was, a monk in the Order of Akan.
(OOC: I read the backstory. LOVED the Akanese. They seemed more kick ass and war mongering then the Serco)

3. Union
He needed a last name and applied for Union citizenship there at the same time (hey, what the hell). Besides, it wouldn't be proper for a good Union gal to be going out with an Akanese scumbag >.>
(OOC: Nah, this one was all RP reasons)

1. Gold

2 I started out as serco when I was learning the ropes, I didn't even read chat at first =D then I capped the blue flag...( I didn't know anything..I just walked in, walked out) then I went to the gold flag. Asp was there, and blew the heebzeebjjjes outta me. I switched to gold, and followed his lead as a patriot.

I chose Serco... BECAUSE They were outnumbered =P

ufoman: nice thread necromancy... though, couldn't you have waited another couple weeks for it's one-year anniversary? =P

EDIT: I also have characters in the other two nations; Itani (Eo) for interstellar peacekeeping & enforcement, Itani (Unaligned) for interstellar peace disrupting & Pirating, UIT (Corvus) for pirating & pillaging, UIT (Freelance) for pirate supression.

My main character (Serco - Cunjo) is for the preservation and progression of the Serco race through promoting the rise and dominance of Serco warriors. I fight for the honor and glory of my Race.

I was originally Itani, I chose Itani because of the backstory. They seemed peaceful and reasonable. I was a hardcore Itani for awhile and never dreamed about going to the Serco barbarian side... Then my dreams changed.

After SAF disbanded the Itani basically had the run of the mill. So I felt it was time to level up my lonely Serco character (A-Dawg) that I occasionally used to visit Borb and Draeca Sarn. With A-Dawg I created SCAR to even the odds and try and rebalance the game. (It was frankly getting boring not being able to find Serco's to shoot.) For the most part its worked. I stayed on the Serco side because I have a guild to run, not to mention all the players from the IA I betrayed.

Thats my story and I'm stickin' to it.

1) Itani,
2) The backstory, fighting style (small & quick), Energy Foci, and the fact that I'm too much of navel-gazing wimp to focus on combat much. :P

Wellll!! I read the back story and weighed up all the pros and cons of the different factions. I checked out all the ships and read every post about each one . Then I logged into ventrilo and said

"Ok who wants to shoot stuff in space?"

There was a crackle of crisp packets and a few pzzzsssstt noises as beer cans were popped.

"Yeah ok " they went.

Usual questions shouted all at once and we untied Ceebee from his chair and took his orange out of his mouth.

"Shooting things in space!! What your gona let me shoot stuff?" He is a little excitable and we need to control him or the north of England would be a smoldering wreck of molton metal and dead cats.

" What youve found a game where we can actually shoot other people in a space ship?" He likes shooting things does our Ceebee.

"Well come on Ceebee the usual rules, you cant shoot them unless they are nasty and stop us doing our thing" Sensible policies for a sensible world we think.

After a good 10 minutes most had the Download and were at the character selection screen. Remember all the study of the history and ships?

"Take the first one , Its blue"
"OK!!"

That was it really .........

No honestly I just said pick the first one. Its a nightmare trying to organise this rabble into some kind or cohesive unit. If I hadnt said anything quickly they would have clicked buttons hit launch from station and found out they were 20 star systems from each other going "EH!"

Apart from Ceeb's who would have flown to the nearest unregulated area spitting acid, hanging out of his cockpit window shouting
"Who wants it then?"

/sigh................
