I like blue, so during beta i took blue. After the reset i leveled again, and just couldn't see leveling another account. I actually thought of re-setting to gold for some of the equipment, then I found that the best stuff comes from the NPC faction stations anyway.

1: Itani
2: It was my favorite color out of the three options. This was back in the days where every nation was exactly the same except for the models of the ships.

Serco, because i like red more then blue and yellow.

as time progressed i found the serco nation fit my persona and had already obtained a name for myself so stuck with my beloved red.

lately i have tried working other nation charactors, but they do not feel right.

1. Itani
2. Cuz my friend was already itani and it was the only way for us to explore together. I've since branched out.

2. Well, because I harken back to the good old days, when traders were traders, space was made for profit, and Thargoids > all. Long live the Intergalatic Credit Exchange!

Red nation.

Back in the olde days I used to play with each nation Spider[red, blue, gold] .... Then Things changed overnight, I kept the chars...

Then there showed to be quite a few harassing griefers on the blue team, so rather than to hide beneath the opressors, I entrenched in Red.

Red! For the Lady!

I started as NT (not UIT), because a friend brought me to VO and told me to take NT. Then I switched to Red for a short time, which causes endless trouble. Back to NT, but this wasn't my *home* anymore. So, with the total reset coming with the beta I went back to Red ... and will stay there until the end of my days.

Once I created a blue char. Sorry to say that, but this clothes didn't fit very well and i deleted that char after 2 weeks and never tried to play as blue/Itani again.

1. Serco
2. Randomly. I didn't even read the backstory until after I joined.

1. UIT
2. I bought the game because it was a space trading game, and I missed TradeWars and Elite. From the backstory and nation descriptions, I figured that I would be more involved in the trading aspect if I chose UIT. After all, I am but a simple, honest trader, the salt of the spacelanes...

At first I wanted to join Gold but my brother was Gold too, so I joined Blue instead so we could fight against each other. I like the colour blue better anyway...

The yellow guys - just picked a color and stuck with it. Didn't know anything about the game at the time :)

UIT - Neutrality seemed like a good basis for growing and amassing all the best stuff for my ship. Who wouldn't like the best stuff every nation has to offer, put together into one kick arse ship? I didn't know that a Serco or Itani could ever accomplish such a thing. I did alright, joining for the last weeks of beta, so here I stay. The only problem is that there other people, and they can do just the same.

What happened to blue greifers? It seems to me many Serco hold the upper hand now.

The blue griefers either changed to serco or left when they had to pay for their fun.
Feb 11, 2005 genka link
Actually, for the most part, they disappeared a while before they had to pay for their fun.
The biggest blue griefer guild, the IDF, for example fell apart once the non-greifer leadership realized that their guild really wasn't a police guild like they thought.
Even Homestar, the most notorious of the blue griefers, had gone long, long before the release. Although I suspect he may still be playing as tramshed, but you never know. Tramshed may very well be the noob he claims to be. In fact, I think it's more likely that he isn't homestar, but really. Who cares. I mean, it could be starfreeze for all we know.

Whatever griefers were left after that all died off during the pre-beta period of closed testing. They were mostly fairly skill-less people praying on even skill-lesser newbs, and with no constant increase of newbs there wasn't much they could do.

I read the back story after I got my beta notice, I missed the trading I use to do in other space games(TW2002,EnB). I figured I could have lots of fun and Have

1. Gold nation (that's what it was called back when I joined)
2. I picked Gold for the color, and I stayed because within 5 minutes of joining I had someone helping me out, showing me around, and I've been loyal to the UIT ever since.

I was attracted to the independent nature of the UIT. Gives a sense of freedom.
Allso, made me think of the Border Worlds in Wing Commander 4, which gave me more or less the same feeling.

I played blue and red characters during alpha and beta.
wanted to try something different.

1. Itani
2. Mostly because of the backstory. I didn't like the fact that the Serco based all of their culture on conflict. Color had no bearing on it. Plus I was under the impression we would have better shielding. What ever happened to that?
