Random words in Latin are always good. Canis Major, Alpha Arcturus, Lorem Ipsum Prime, that sort of stuff.
Hmm, why is everyone(well, except Katarn) making up non-english-based names? What happened to good old "Junkyard" and the like?
Intra (system to which the initial colonists warped and then got trapped)
New Sol (seriously)
Rhawi
Lost Centaurus (or LC)
Ithaca (this is the island where Ulysses lived)
Bazaar
(drum roll...) Junkyard
maybe I'll think of some more

Ooooh, I like it. I hereby suggest that sector 9 (or whatever is the main trading sector in the new universe) be named Talat. :D

Come on now. Not every name has to be totally random with lots of apostrophes and odd letter orders. I've found names can be more compelling when they allude to something that you can understand. (Like a ski-slope or a rock climbing route ;] ). Wistful! Aggressive! Sad! Comforting! Poetic! Awown'txks is great, but you can write a ten line c++ program that'll pump out a million of those. Some names that ellicit a response are what we need here.
How about:
The Broken Wings
Sapphire Dawn
Salient March
Refuge
Monument
Shattered Sky
Remnant
These take a little more time, but at least you don't sound like a retarded monkey with a mouthful of twigs when you say them. AND they sound cooler in conversation, "Yeah, I picked up a load of nanites from The Broken Wings, stopped off at Refuge then sold them all over Shattered Sky."
Compare with "Yeah, I picked up a load of nanites from Aaf2omc2, stopped off at Tjwof'wikw'ol'o'o'o then sold them all over POOOltswop.low9#"
Not only can you actually pronounce these names, they turn even the most mundane conversation into prose.
Or you could just pretend everything is an NGC object.

Not to rain on anybody's parade but Incarnate said "We don't want actual star names" for the contest because remember, we're a lost civilization (well mostly civilized) and we're not near our homeworld or homesystem so words like "Mars" don't really work.
I like some of the other ones though, like:
Sangjan - "moonbeam"
And they don't all have to be long alien words with lots of apostrophes, like StarFisher said, we need emotion:
More Planets:
Pyrotha (Fire world, main export, weapons)
Absolution
Pearl (a sea-paradise)
Windsor
Brigantine
Woodmar (Jungle World, (see Endor in Star Wars 6))
Black Planet (a world void of light, a drifting world without a star)
Valor (border world)
More Stations:
Honor (National Defense Outpost (NDO))
Duty (NDO)
Auxi
More Stars:
Flourescence (Bright sun)

Áine (Means "radiance" in Gaelic)

Maybe name them after their supposed position in the galaxy. Or how close they are to the center of known space.
As you get further out:
(allude to the scareness of stars, ending of stars, edge of the galaxy or outpost, borders, old west)
Boundary
Rimward Journey
Star's End
Diamond Sky
Here Be Dragons
As you get closer in:
(allude to more stars, brighter night skies or knowledge, civilization, perverse corporate advertisements)
Centerforge
Stella Genesis
Eternal Sunset
Rumination
Nexus
All You Can Eat 99c!

I just got bored at work and copied all these names into an Access Database. We're up to 282, and I've got a dump of all the names alphabetized in HTML format. 36kb. I'll keep adding as the days go by, and post a new list each night.
Zahadum, deserted old planet
Epsilon IV
Augosta
btw, why not name some planets after veteranes players who left?
