Adding turbo drain to +200ms ships gets to more inline defined roles for ships and I would guess be a fairly quick solution to the many requests for top down redux of ship speeds as that will take a lot of thought and debate.
The universe is big enough, and this game plays at a slow enough pace among many other reasons why this suggestion is bad.

Greyhound should have the thrust nerfed if anything.

Realistic impact on travel time by adding turbo drain is negligible so please go ahead with your MANY other reasons.

Many requests? More like an occasionally re-proposed idea that has as many proponents as it does detractors. And despite Incarnate saying he is open to a "grand rebalancing", there never was any semblance of agreement on the best way to go about it, nor is there now.

There never needed to be an agreement, because it's not democracy. Seems that you keep forgetting that you have exactly zero say in the direction of the game.
Inc is the lead game developer, and it's 100% his vision, regardless of what you would like the game to be. Suggestions forum is merely there to give him inspiration and ideas.
So why don't you learn how to code and make your own damn game, which will probably be a boring clone of quakelive?

Translation: I'm too impatient and restless to be able to take adding 10 seconds to my travel time.

JJ please be nice, no need to target greenwall like that! Discuss the suggestion however bad it may be and not individual people!!!!
"I dont like it when newbs get away from me. Lets lower the max speed available to them."

The fastest ship in the verse is still only accessable to those pledging constant subbing.
A warthog is a tiny little shuttle of a ship - it should be fast its the bare model used for a hound.
All the balances work well with speed at the moment, there is no need to change them, they have those that need to intercept being able to do so, and those that are particulalry powerful thrust paying for it with more energy used.
Next, you'll be suggesting that as a superfast interceptor svg ought to infiniturbo. No. thankyou.
Warthogs suck... Let em keep their speed.
I liked jj's point about inc's vision, tho the caustic wording wasnt necesary.

Nys, normally I'd agree with you that "caustic wording" isn't necessary. However,

Caustic wording is unwanted in Suggestions. Please stick to civil discussions regarding the ideas, and avoid personal attacks.
@Nys
No where in the suggestion does it say anything about lowering speeds. It says limit infini turbo to 200mps and anything over that should have turbo drain, the Greyhound being the only exception.

False. Greyhounds are accessible to anyone with sufficient levels and Corvus standing. Only the Camo Greyhound requires LTS, and its stats are the same as the stock Hound. The only real difference is which stations sell it, since the Camo Hound is available from Sedina through Bractus whereas the stock Hound is only in Odia. (A situation I am opposed to, for the record. LTS players shouldn't get long-term benefits of this nature.)

Camo hound selling spots should be discussed in another thread as well. Its fairly stupid that standard hounds are only available in odia.
It is only stupid as you are lazy and unwilling to make the commitment to LTS.

Who said I wasn't LTS?
I speak for all, not myself.

"Stupid" is not a valid argument.
Specifically, what's wrong with LTS having permanent access to a cosmetic perk that doesn't impart any advantage?

You do NOT represent us. Let's not get arrogant, bro!

Whistler, nobody is complaining about the cosmetics. We're complaining about the fact that the Camo Hound is sold in Sedina, Odia, and Bractus, even though the stock Hound is only sold in Odia. That does give those of us who are LTS an advantage. It's not a huge issue, but it's still a step in the wrong direction and a worrying sign about what the future might hold.

It's also easy to address in a separate Suggestions thread. I don't recall doing that intentionally, I certainly didn't envision creating a gameplay advantage for LTS people.
