... for those that are guild members. As it originally was.
Rumor has it that it was removed because people were using it to find TGFT members. I don't see how that's a problem since they have the ability to control their membership.
The "logged in now" feature is very useful for personnel management within a guild. There are often times when I'm not really prepared to log in for gameplay, but I may need to speak directly with a guild member. Being able to check the guild page list periodically makes it possible to jump on when i need to once rather than several times a day.
It isn't as if it shows where the member is in the galaxy. If TGFT or any other guild is so worried about alts, perhaps they aren't doing it right (being a guild).

+1
Removing this feature is something that should have been fielded against the player base to get input before completely removing the ability for guild members to see who is currently logged in.
If a guild is worried about who can see they are online, they should prune their guild roster.

This was removed without my approval, and is being added back in.
Thanks Inc!
Nice! thanks, inc!
So, there are people who want this change. What if we made it a guild-configurable option? Does anyone have any problem with that? So, X guild can turn it off for their own players, but Y guild who wants to use it, leaves it enabled?
+1 Inc
+1 No problem with that at all.
I think if guilds don't want suspicious members knowing they are logged on from the website, they should have the right to take that ability away from its members.
I will say that if this is the case, then they should REALLY reconsider their recruitment process and principles...if any exist

From my perspective, I don't see a lot of value add in having that as a configurable feature, and I am generally all in favor of configurable features....
The ability to turn that off mitigates the risk of never pruning a guild roster, while leaving every non-contributing member from the beginning of time, allowing a guild to misrepresent their actual level of activity.
It seems like a poor use of resources to build this in as a configuration option when the risk is so easily mitigated by doing basic guild membership maintenance.

if it doesnt take much time to impliment +1 for a guild configurable option... savets argument about misrepresenting activity is bs
I don't really get the misrepresentation argument either. I mean, it would still show the last-connection "date". It just doesn't show "now", or the timestamp. So, you can still reasonably see how active a given guild is.. it doesn't hide everything. Just the different of "up-to-the-current-date" vs "current second".
+1 to guild configurable option.
I don't really have a use for the time-stamp personally, i just like the "logged in now" part so I know when my guild-mates are logged in.
I'm fine with it being configurable at the guild level as long as the control rests in the hands of the CO.

What I mean is that you cannot see how active a guild really is until you actually join. Without getting into RP, there are guilds that never prune their members and on paper look like they have hundreds of members when in fact they do not. To create a custom option to not show the times players log in or who is currently logged in provides a mechanic that incentivizes the lack of pruning to mitigate the risk of not pruning a guild roster for spies.
It seems I'm in the minority here, but other low hanging fruit seems like a better ROI. Since Inc is offering this though, it's clearly a trivial thing to implement.

by bs i meant it is not up to savet to decide what kind of misrepresentation is acceptable or not.. as long as its within the RoC
+1 for the guild configurable option.
I'm just sharing my thoughts.
If it's going to be configurable, it should be set like all other guild options. The guild should be able to set whether members, council, or LTs can see, with co always being able to see.

+1 to Savet's latest idea!
+1 Inc.
I don't really care if this disincentives pruning and thereby results in guilds looking more active than they are from the outside. The ability to distinguish zombie guilds would more appropriately handled by adding an "active players" column to the guild list, as has been suggested elsewhere.

There is now a checkbox available to Guild Commanders, on the website, for "Show full timestamp and login status of members." So, people can optionally turn that off if they like.
No, we are not offering differentiating options for members vs council vs LTs.
