Hmm? Trident building is smooth-sailing on my surveillance TGFT alt. It's going to take time as you know, but progress is good.
I would suggest leaving the current armor as is and instead, reducing the turret respawn after the station has been taken the first time by 75% and increasing the rate up to the current rate over a period of 2 hours.
If there is an ongoing battle, then these new turrets are going to get taken out fairly quickly since they start at low health. If there isn't, then it gives the player(s) who took the station a bit of breathing room by creating a bit of a deterrent against other players showing up and immediately taking it back.

The way the conq station turrets were before they were nerfed, an organized team of 5 or 6 could take the station in about the same time it takes 1 to do it now.
This is a defended station. It *should* be difficult to conquer. It *should* require planning, command, and control of forces.
The reality is that those that currently control keys on a regular basis are, in fact a large guild. They have a vested interest in controlling the station since they're the most active in trident building. Their infrastructure is what enables them to gain control (number of players who can launch swarms; availability of trident support at a given notice, etc.) -not their ability to exercise genuine strategy and command.
Re-buffing the turrets will remove the imbalance and allow nationalist guilds and smaller interests to plan and coordinate station conquests. It will force diplomacy and interaction between these guilds and groups and even with larger organizations like TGFT who currently have an oligarchical hold on stations.
Its natural that they and their allied interests would object, since it definitely threatens their dominance and levels the playing field. And it is not surprising that the majority, if not all of the "-1" responses are from TGFT and ITAN. Aside from two of my guildmates :)

making your suggested change would in no way benefit smaller parties
I also like Death Fluffy's idea of having the turrets respawn 75% faster as an alternative to more armor and having the respawn time increase as the attack continues.
greenwall, smaller parties could more easily defend the station if the turrets had more armor or respawned faster.
OP is a fool! Utter unequivocal fool to suggest such a thing. You should be sentenced to 100 hours of station conquering in the test server under the old turret health.
As for this UTTER GARBAGE about more turret health being better for smaller teams. When the turrets had more health, smaller interests NEVER GOT THE STATIONS IN THE FIRST PLACE, EVER.
I know, I was there.

I was there too, and yes we did. There were plenty of times when a single CHRN would solo a station even when they had absurd-o-health and it took a fucking hour. That was even before there was a slew of crafting missions there to give them a purpose.

yes, whatever is gained by making stations easier to defend it lost by making them harder to take
The only advantage a small team has over a large team is speed -- small teams can assemble, coordinate, and act faster than large teams. Less inertia.
So what happens when you increase the armor? You increase the time the defenders have to assemble. Who gains the most from that? Large teams. Let's say a small team owns the station when it gets attacked. If the team is small, it will only take a short while for them to assemble to defend it. There will also be minimal chance that any more of their friends will log on in the near future. So, past a certain point, there is nothing to be gained by increasing the armor. Now swap teams. The large defending team continues to gain benefit as you continue increasing their time to assemble, because there are more of them out there to trickle in. So they get more out of it.
Besides, think about it a moment. What is the most effective way for a small group to fight when vastly outnumbered? Guerrilla tactics. Guerrilla tactics do not include long campaigns to capture and then hold onto high-profile locations. Guerrillas instead make fast, hard raids, get/do what they need, and then get the hell out before their enemy can respond properly.
Low armor turrets are better for the small people.

Turrets should respawn at 100% if they are coming out of a station. Not 12%
Why? Once I took out all the turrets with a single avalon to force a new dock contest. That's the kind of awesome glory moves that make this version of station conquering so cool.
TRS is correct and everyone else who has different things to say is a souless killjoy
An Itani nationalist is agreeing with a radical/extreme Serco nationalist? I've never seen anything as incredulous as that in my whole VO career. I guess I should expect that from someone with "crazy" in his name.
The fact that you juxtapose me as a 'radical/extreme serco nationalist' against crazyspence as just a normal 'itani nationalist' leads me to believe that you don't know him very well at all.
CS is a normal nationalist... he's just also crazy.

I invented it so whatever I'm doing is normal!
You mistake me, TRS. I wouldn't label CS as "normal."
Here's what I know about CS:
* He's secretly a pirate. He camps wormholes and demands tolls from people, or he will blow them up. Not exactly permissible according to Itan guild rules but whatever. I guess that says something about Itan guild itself as well.
* If he's killed in a fair and square 1v1 fight, he throws a freak show and demands everyone to come to his aid. Really, even with his trident sitting there 1000m away? Whatever happened to just saying "gf"?
To sum it up, he's a complete attention whore and a crybaby.

Ahem... insulting people is not going to make your point, is sidetracked, and is plain rude.
