### Essentially what you are proposing is to permit steroid use in sports. That is an entirely different issue from the idiotic war on drugs. What people do in private is one thing. This, however, is a game. ###
Actually, no. Unless you are talking about a sport which is a competition between better looking people.
(Is there even a "sport" like this ? Oh - maybe body building)
### People in Vendetta should not be allowed or encouraged to use external resources for in-game benefits. Even if the stuff they buy is literally identical to what you can get with in-game resources, it still saves them time, giving them an unfair advantage. Yes, there will be people who do it anyway, but not having an official method will significantly reduce the number of people who do. After all, that's the whole point of rules. Of course people will break them, but the rules help to discourage it. I mean, people commit rape every day, but do you see many people seriously proposing to legalize it and build a business around it? ###
Your argument is valid, yet there is a lot of MMOs (and not only MMOs - some normal multiplayer games do it too) which do what you described and have a successful buisness models with happy players.
Also, with proper balancement, the advantages gained by having a lot of cash & buying stuff won't be big enough to be annoying for normal players.
And, to be perfectly clear, I am talking about
1) Users selling to other users items/ships that can be gained using normal hard work (grinding) = these increase stats.
2) Devs selling items that are not normally obtainable in game - but these only look better = No stats increase

PoL may actually be onto something. From now on I will no longer be selling in game items for creds. Simply tell me what you need, mail me your active credit card/bank card & PIN and after I take what ever I think is fair... I will transfer any items you need.
Stop trying to get the chess club to change the rules of the game to make it more like football. If you want to play football, go join the football team. If you want some unique in-between, go form your own club. And if you want to buy a second queen instead of having to get a pawn across the board like the rest of us, that's just too bad.
+1 Rin; that about sums up this entire idea, and many if not all of PoL's others. I'm amazed this went to the third page.
Any ideas are good ideas to get more players after 10 years of trying for "Massive Online Role Playing Game"
I don't like this idea personally but at least it is an idea of attracting paying customers and increased revenue as it's core.
Mostly I don't like it because it does not follow any successful pattern that is already tried and proven with regard to attracting new players and ultimately paying customers.
The pool of ideas should be based on something that is currently working tried and true already.
Why re-invent the wheel ?
If it's a business then it should focus on generating revenue and increasing customers.
P.S - Side note:
The core reason of the Kickstarter project I don't necessarily like. However, the exposure regardless of whether the goal is hit or not will be a net plus regardless of the outcome.
They should continue with any other similar kickstarter to continue this exposure of the game

Oh, now i get it. I get it all. No need to argue anymore, i understand everything.
So all of you "hardcore players" want this game to be your Elitist Club of Exalted Ones™.
You hardcores are probably the main reason why this game fails so miserably even with all of the Kickstarter & Android things going on.
Good luck getting more than 100 subscriptions per month with this approach.
And now it is time to hate me because i told you the truth.

tl:dr
You made one good suggestion:
- Allow new duel mode: duel for money. Both of participants enter credit into the bank. The winner gets all.
Other than that, Every thing else either has no point, or can be done otherwise.
Why create a new currency? The game has a currency. It is called credits. It can be exchanged between players. If you want to buy some credits for rl cash or bitcoin, find a seller. Why are you asking the devs to do something that players can do? I will sell you some credits for RL cash. Make an offer.
Put your money where your mouth is! Make me a cash offer on ingame credits, offer to sell credits and name your price in dollars and/or shitcoin, or stfu.

You may want to read through the EULA first, as this type of thing generally violates it in most online games. I haven't been through it recently; this is just a suggestion.
@PoL: I don't hate you, but I suspect Vendetta is already doing a lot better than 100 subs per month, which suggests you aren't telling the truth.

Typed by hand. Refer to the actual EULA for exact wording.
Vendetta-Online EULA last modified 7/22/2005
Section 8:
8. We and our suppliers shall retain all rights ...
... including ...
character(s), item(s), credit(s)...
Section 9:
... You may not buy, sell or auction (or host or facilitate the ability to allow others to buy, sell or auction) any Game characters, items, coin, or copyrighted material.
And with all that being said, no player actually owns anything in game, and therefor can not legally "sell" any ingame possession. However, I can sell physical possession, or in this case, effective possesion, of anything I can transfer by ingame means. I can not sell you credits, per se, but I can offer to transfer credits from my character to your character for a fee. You still won't "own" the credits anymore than I did, but you will have no less acccess to those same credits than I did. It is simply a matter of wording.

It does not matter whether you believe their wording applies to transferring credits for money. All that matters is whether the devs believe their wording applies. So saith Section 6.

### Why create a new currency? The game has a currency. It is called credits. It can be exchanged between players. ###
For technical purposes - meaning balancement. If you make the already used currency a currency you can buy for normal money, you would completely destabilize the economy. This would be a complete disaster.
A complete rebalancement of all prices existing in game would be necessary then. This is too much work. It is much easier to create another currency named deuterium, tritium, naquadah, uranium, diamonds, unobtanium, x-tanium, gold or whatever pleases the devs.
When adding another currency, you only have to set prices/balance of the items that can be bought from game's shop. Prices between players will be automagically defined by supply and demand.

I am not talking about trading myself here and now, but about changing some of the concepts of this game.
Also no items i own are really worth any REAL money currently.

Pizzasgood:
You are partially correct. The devs reserve all rights, and they can enforce anything they can code. But short of it being enforced, the wording does matter. If I charge a fee to transfer items, the dev's only recourse in ingame enforcement, or change the EULA. Even changing the EULA does not guaranty legal enforceability. But let's face it. Most of that wording is defensive in nature, not preventative in intent. Unless the dev's intend to compete in such a market, I see no reason why they would be overly opposed to it's existence. Any transactions should include a disclaimer "As allowed by the Vendetta Online EULA" or some such, but otherwise, business as usual.
POS:
balancement? is that a word? don't care. no, it will not destabilize the economy. Not the US economy, not VO economy. The economy is what it is. It isn't "automagically" anything. It is real supply and demand. You are just making things more complicated than they need to be. If you are not a market, and you don't have a market, and you won't serve a market, you are just wasting every one's time. And frankly, people are willing to pay cash for just about anything. If you don't possess something ingame worth selling, you must not even play. get real. stop asking the dev's to spin wheels for no real purpose.

###balancement? is that a word? don't care. no, it will not destabilize the economy. Not the US economy, not VO economy. ###
Of course it will destabilize the economy. And not only trhe economy, but the game universe itself. If you established a fixed dollar-to-old-credits or bitcoins-to-old-credits rate, then there would be people who could pay to buy all of the best in-game items for cash.
That would be actual cheating that @Pizzasgood was worried about.

You are partially correct. You are talking about NORMAL economy, not in-game economy.
The current VO economy is not a real economy, it is an artificial economy with fixed prices and somewhat static, predefined market.

Who said anything about fixed dollar-to-old-credits? Why do you keep making it more complicated than it needs to be? Is it just way too simple for you to understand? The dev's don't need to do anything. The players can offer what they have to offer, at what ever rate they want. If some one wants to pay to obtain everything that is offered, they can, until they saturate supply. This is why it is called a supply and demand market. You are trying to introduce artificial supply. You are also introducing imaginary demand. You are making it complicated, because the reality of it is just too simple for you to rap your brain around. No one is offering anything to the market, because there is no market. And there will never be a market, until someone offers something for trade. You don't have anything for trade, so just stfu.
Wowza that was a lot of funny stuff begin said...paladum ur idea sucks..I swear if VO starts selling ScP for 20 bucks rc I'm gonna quit. Vo rocks as it stands...could go for some port upgrades tho...
Can someone for the love of this forum do something about Freeman? He posts incomprehensible stuff in the wrong place and now necro's a thread that was obviously a bad idea just to say that it is a bad idea....
