Yep Lecter, it should. You of course are over-simplifying it for the sake of trolling -- glazing over the fact that there are many other factors that play into a ships maneuverability. It's 25m/s slower than the fastest ships in game at TOP SPEED. In all likelyhood in hot combat situations it will never reach top speed (whereas all fighters and interceptors always do), and, given its weight, it should take much longer to reach the top speed if it was going full out turbo in a straight line compared to the current Rag3.
In otherwords, its properly balanced.

The best ship in the game right now it the greyhound, because it's the best interceptor and the best bomber, and darn good at almost anything. The recent unnecessary buff is why it's so great. Why are we talking about other ships? We don't need them. Just add variants of the greyhound.

You missed April 1st by a week. It's debatable on interceptor, because the valk is still great and brings more firepower to bear, but it's safe to say it's the best tool in the box for chasing down a fleeing moth, taur, or atlas. As intended. The ideal that a 1S/1L ship with shit spin torque non-turbo thrust will make a great bombing platform is a good one, though.
The recent unnecessary buff is why it's so great.
Please elaborate on how some extra turbo thrust has made it better at anything other than moving fast in a straight line.

@csgno1 "Just add variants of the greyhound."
Good idea. I propose a 3L1S1turret version of the greyhound, so it functions better in its bomber role, as I'm sure the developers intended.

Things the Greyhound is bad at include:
* Mining
* Moving cargo
* Heavy bombing
* Defeating skilled enemies without help

I disagree. The Greyhound is a superb fighter these days. It's mass/thrust ratio makes it dodge better than all of the Warthog models except the WTD, and it's got the ability to engage and disengage at will with even the heaviest weapons.

You're leaving out that the Hound has the spin torque of a free bus, making it terrible at combat (i.e., spinning around to engage a moving target while dodging) rather than just dodging. Which makes sense, given its role: strafing to avoid convoy turret fire is one thing, swinging the nose around to fight a real opponent is quite another. Plus, there's nothing wrong with Corvus's highest end ship being better than other Hogs (not counting the WTD, which is, you know, the combat Hog) at combat. Come cry about the Hound being OP when it's beating CVs, Cormauds, SVGs, IBGs, Rev Cs, WTDs, Tung Taurs, Proms, and Valks in stand up fights given roughly equal pilots. Which won't ever happen, and we both know it.
That aside, even your stated "advantage" is kinda like being the tallest midget. The Hound has a mass of 5000Kg and Thrust of 250N (20Kg/N), while the other non-WTD Hogs are in the range of 27Kg/N (Mk I) to 23.4Kg/N (Mk III). Not a huge advantage, especially when compared to less special ships like the Cormaud (19Kg/N) and the Maud X (19Kg/N), both of which have the ability to field three weapons. We won't embarass ARF by looking at mass/thrust ratios in the Valk, Prom, Vult, or Cent realms--you know, actual combat craft--where numbers like 13.3Kg/N (X1) 19Kg/N (SCP), 16.7Kg/N (SVG), and 13.76Kg/N (IBG) show up. It's worth noting, though, that while the lowly IBG has twice the thrust/mass ratio of the Hound and significantly better spin torque, it still has more than 87% of the Hound's armor.
The WTD is the only other high-end Hog in the game, and next to it the Hound is a laughable combat ship. WTD has 19.27Kg/N, but with a faster non turbo speed for manouvering (65 m/s) and a massive 8.0Nm spin torque for actually fighting a moving opponent while dodging. Oh, and it has 33% more armor than the Hound.
TL;DR: As usual, ARF's full of shit. In terms of combat, it's basically a very expensive Hog Mk II with less armor and no ability to track a target at all.

+1 to a new Rag Bomber! Lots of great relevant discussion here! Seems like the consensus is that we should get this ship. Make it so!
bump!
The greyhound accelerates so well now and goes so fast that one side using it in a station battle forces the other side to use it too or else bombers are sitting ducks.
In my opinion the ship with the best acceleration should not also be the ship that has the highest maximum speed.

I agree the hound is OP in the thrust/speed dept, but not sure how that applies to this thread. And besides, this suggested ship would be more relevant in Deneb warfare than in conquerable stations... And in Deneb, the greyhounds are equally less relevent.
bump
Heey that's a pretty cool idea. +1
Why don't we have this yet?
Because TRS cried louder and convinced Incarnate that a buffed SVG was more important for the serco, I mean for the game.
+1 a bomber with turrets would be nice
+1 sounds like a really awesome bomber. Give to too ineubis or xx. They need ships.
