Compare the profiles of the corvult and X1 to something like the prom. Now they don't seem so far off, eh?
The prom is not what we're talking about.
I know, I was simply saying that compared to other ships, the profile of the x1 and the corvult are relatively close. Which is what really matters.
No, it is not what really matters. We're talking about the X-1 and the Vulture, nothing else. 'Relatively' does not apply when comparing only two things.
Incarnate: is tweaking Valkyries still on the table? What can we do to help make that happen?
Sorry to point out the obvious. None of this matters unless you actually put you bum on a chair, pick up a js or mouse, and log in and shoot at stuff.
Excellent point, Miner.
Although we've been unable to really reach a clear conclusion on this issue, what this discussion has made me realize is that it's the mechanic that's broken, not the ships.
The way group combat works in vendetta, mobility is by far the most powerful asset. I think we can all agree on that. The valk is the most mobile ship, so it seems broken. But there will always be a most mobile ship. What we need to fix is the mechanic that makes the most mobile ship overpowered instead of just making the most mobile ship less mobile.

Mobility as a tactic of warfare is not just a game mechanic, it is a fundamental property of warfare. You are asking to change the nature of warfare itself.
There will always be a most mobile ship. But the valk is the only ship that so completely out mobilizes all other ships. Even ships that are otherwise considered mobile in their own right.
I do not suggest that fixing the valk will fix every thing else. I have repeated suggested that fixing anything else before the valk will be complicated by considerations of the valk.
Get it out of the way so we can move on to the next real issue.

Something like grid cycling (in combination with releasing some easy to obtain high-grid, heavy ship-friendly, & pvp-friendly weapons) would buff heavy and medium ships in group combat while still keeping them close to where they are in 1v1s.

Is it feasible to increase the aiming accuracy on medium to heavy ships or to widen the targeting window? Seems to me the larger ships would have greater stability which should enhance both. Most of the time, these ships are easy prey for lights. I even count the SCP since I can get most down to around 50% (which given the disparity in ships, I consider a victory) in my Rev C if I don't beat them.
That's a thought. What about slight autoaim advantages for larger ships and decreased autoaim for those with more maneuverability?
AAPs transform into old school Hive Posis when strapped to a SCP? Ouch.
Not that much of a bonus....
...They already DO have increased aiming accuracy. The heavier your ship, the more stable your aim. The lighter your ship, the faster your reflexes have to be to catch the window. I agree that there is a problem that needs to be solved, but I think this is not the end to tackle. The reason you can take most SCP's down to around 50% in your Rev C is because nobody flies an SCP that well these days.

Sure, I'm open to changing the valk. However, the last time I tried picking one thing out of this thread, which I thought was generally agreeable, and changing it, I received a ton of flak. So these days I'm more inclined to wait for some kind of converged "VO PvP Magna Carta".

Blow that Inc. Youre a Dev, its your game. Change what ever you like and who cares if people whine.
[Edit] If you're talking about the SVG, I recall a lot of people actually liked that one.

When its my own changes based on my own design, I'm pretty single-minded, and prepared to defend my choices. When it's more user-driven input, and honestly I'm insanely busy elsewhere, and just trying to drop in some changes and make people happy.. well.. eh. I prefer some degree of quorum? I think that was the original goal of the discussion anyway.
