I think this is a great idea. Further, I think it should only operate one way. Meaning, as soon as I /ignore everyone, they should not be able to damage me, but I should still be able to damage them. In my case, it'd be just like always because I'm unstoppable, but it would certainly save me the indignity of having to repair the odd stray lucky hit.

Leber, as much as I dislike many aspects of the NYC circles in which I live and work, the lower quantity of 'down home stupid' -- the sort I saw plenty of back in 1990's rural Virginia -- is a huge plus factor. I simply cannot handle that sort of stupid without resorting to violence.
