+1. Everything zak said.
+1 but only IF it also includes changing the name of AGT to "Advanced Gatling Cannon" or "GC mk3"
Or, thinking better and keeping the existing standarts, rename this one as "Accelerated Gatling Cannon" and AGT as "Advanced Gatling Cannon" or "Gatling Cannon Improved"

Alloh, the name of the AGT has absolutely nothing to do with this thread.
Back on topic, what is stopping this from being added?
I will never give up on this suggestion. Incarnate your only hope is to add the weapon or try and outlive me!
Hell, replace the existing Gatling Cannon with this. Nobody uses the damn thing in it's current state anyways.
I've been occupied elsewhere, lately. Anyway, I haven't compared stats or anything, but if per-shot flight speed is the biggest advantage, and it doesn't increase the firing rate, I'm not against it.
The issue with gatlings and lag is not on any individual weapon. It's when several are used at once. This can be kinda crushingly demonstrated by putting 10 AGTs on a SuperBus and then fighting other players.. slower-connection people in same the sector get lagged, even.
So, as long as grid power is relatively high, we should be ok unless a whole guild decides to go Gatling-crazy at once.

heh.. no promises.
I don't think that many people will be using it at once. No more than what is seen in the Deneb sectors.

lol, Inc.
This wouldn't be any worse for lag then the already widely popular Gatling Turret that entire guilds already use...

Yah well, RED loves proms, and the gatling turret is by a long shot the most effective all-round weapon on a prom. Take the gatling turret away and I could almost guarantee that we would lose pretty much every pvp encounter. It's the only thing that can keep up with crazy spinning valkries that comes on a flare platform.
Exactly. We don't even need a higher grid power. Leave it at 4 and dont give it the same A/A as the Gatling Turret has.
+1 for TRS's suggestion of taking away gat turrets.
The Gat is used almost exclusively on large ports on proms, and often on other heavies. We need more large port weapon variety, not more guns with mad A/A.
The Gat Cannon doesn't have much in the way of autoaim so no issue there.
Added.
it's better at getting passing shots on valkryies than the turret by virtue of it's speed, but I still prefer the annihilator as a prometheus main weapon.
I don't think it's possible to replace the value of the wide AA turret because the issue is that high AA gives you the freedom to aim flares and shoot at the same time. It also helps with the follow up attack because you don't have to wait for the slow turning speed of the prom to hit the enemy once they're stunned by the flare. The flare valkryie would also have this problem except it has high turning ratio.

You make it sound like this thread is about the Prometheus. :p
