Cunjo,
The PF usage includes your ram.
When I turn the PF off it goes down to the size of my ram.
Plus it disappears as researved space under the C: drive.

Any word on this? It's really inhibiting gameplay for me. When doing the nation war this weekend, these spikes were crippling. I won't be able to play in any battles involving capships or large amounts of players if I can't fix this =( Dropping resolution and graphics settings to basically the lowest they can go doesn't help at all.
My specs again:
Processor: Pentium 4 540 w/HT Technology (3.2 GHz, 800FSB)
OS: Windows XP
Memory: 512MB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 533MHz - 2DIMMs
Hard Drive: 160GB Serial ATA Hard drive (7200RPM) w/DataBurst Cache
Video Card: ATI Radeon X600 SE HyperMemory
And I'm absolutely positive there are no programs running in the background. Again, I've never had any issues with choppiness pre-patch 1.5. Even all the beta versions of the new client worked fine with no issues.
Please help! =(

You should install Linux JUST to play Vendetta.
Hyper memory, eh? Isn't that a fancy name for shared gfx mem, i.e. the gfx card has little or no-board mem of its own, and uses the motherboard memory for itself, thus slowing texture loading/swapping etc because of the lower bandwidth and greater overheads?
Is everyone who is having these problems using shared gfx mem? If so, it points vaguely to something new the client is doing with texture loading & swapping (probably - this tends to be the big memory drain for gfx cards). If the new client swaps textures more than it used to, it would be the shared gfx mem users that would feel the pain, 'cos of their lower memory bandwidth.
Just a thought.

FPS Issues here too !
iMac (iSight) G5 PPC 1Go RAM 160 Go HD.
I just can trade and mine right now. Engage a fight is just a way to waste a ship. :-(

Does the same slowness happen when you use a new character? (one that has no inventory)
Yep. Tried a character with virtually no inventory. Same problems.
Sorry about repeating myself.
Is your comp overheating? That sounds like the cpu may be throttling down and then back up quickly.

I don't think it is. Don't hear the fan running anymore than normal and it feels normal to the touch.
Mine is overheating though, any advice for it Ray (iMac g5)
Ghost, there's a program called mbm 5 that can monitor your cpu temp so you can see how high it's getting. It puts the temp in the system notification area (next to the clock) http://mbm.livewiredev.com/
GRAIG, try blowing out all the dust (do it outside) with one of those compresssed air cans. Hmm but if it's one of those g5s that is all inside the back of the monitor, I don't know. Maybe you're too close to the heater vent in your room? I know nothing about the heat characteristics of the g5 imacs.

Hmm. I've switched from a 32mb gf2mx to a 256mb radeon 9550 and added more RAM recently.
I still get those jumps after a while though. :/

how long after a while?
Link doesnt seem to work for me.
It's already noticable after an hour or so of mining or botting.
If I just idle around it doesn't happen. I think is different than ghosts problem though.

The link works. Try a different browser.

1-My fps are BACK! it seems it was not a game-related problem but a hardware one, my computer was very very hot and two other games was affected (sims2 -> no sound at all; and command and conquer generals -> no sound FX at all ; and VO incredibly low fps) I don't know how it get repaired, but it is, all my other games work fine and VO is just smoother than ever! do not mention the loading time reduction !
2- Server improvment: one word : YAY !
that's just what we needed ! u guys rocks!

My main comp is in a box right now so I haven't had time to test it after the latest server changes, but I'll post when I'm able to see if it fixed my issues.
Did the server changes fix anything for you cunjo? Your FPS problems sound similar to mine.

My FPS problems still happen, though more sporatically... I get MAJOR drops (as in a complete lockup on the order of 2-3 seconds) at seemably random intervals in flight. They seem to be more common when TPG Teradon's are ENTERING the sector (once they're in, it's not bad at all)
