just the ships from the plugins would even be awesome...borg cube the B-wing...the shuttle w/ 20 hell hounds launchers, 100 200mm railgun turrets, shields, cloak, multi jump organ and 1000 tons of free mass+ mass displacement...oooh what over the top plugins people made.

I like it...the "super Moth" or something. I could also see it being used as a missile boat...(keep the ports, increase the armor drop the speed and agility accordingly)

Ditch the shields, double or maybe quadruple the cargo.

That's one way to go but it seems to draw ever so close to what I think you would so love to pop one day, especially in protected space. For the trader to be surprised and PO'd in a rather fat and vulnerable prize, a treat best served slightly sizzled.
i really dont feel like this contest is going any where...I really hope it does, but people just dont seem interested so im just submitting for fun.

thats a good point...I had not heard of being able to land on planets, though from time to time people have asked about it in suggestions.

yeah but it give us something to do...i thought the game would do that, but theres only so much at this point.
Out of curiosity, I took a look back in forum history, and I don't think any of these contests have ever yielded a winner.

Yup. We're still working on it, he's getting the textures, while I'm working on a new ship... It's a cap ship this time... I think you'll like em...
No clue how to do graphics or what the limitations for creation are, but have an idea for a completely different kind of ship for traders: The Spacebarge
For those who don't know exactly what a barge is relative to trading, it's the "engine" to a group of floating cargo platforms. So a Spacebarge would be pretty fast and powerful engine-wise but would be slower and slower as it took on mass from adding cargo platforms (bought separately).
It's defensive abilities would be limited: 2 large ports. It would also be best if if somehow it could be allowed to spin in the center of the platforms without needing to spin the entire set of cargo, allowing for aiming of guns rather than for turning.
It's extra "defense" is that all of those cargo platforms act as a shield. So a pirate would basically be opening cargo after cargo before actually getting to the engine. The perk to the pirate is that he doesn't have to destroy the entire ship to get something out of it. The downside is that to stop the ship he has to punch through the cargo to get to the engine.

hmmm...you know I wasnt actually thinking of a purpose for them. I suppose they could be weapons? maybe just landing struts? we could do a new contest to decide what the purpose is.
