peytros, where did you (not) learn to read music? I see one little chromatic group of four notes there, in the second measure beats three and four coming down from high A# to G leading into the F major 7. You saw lots of accidentals and assumed chromatic, but it's just a somewhat common jazz notation habit to leave out key signatures and write everything with accidentals (more common in jazz than other music, at least). Notice that despite the lack of a key signature, this music is not in the key of C.

Even if it were chromatic, so what? Some of the coolest runs are chromatic, and the real talent comes in knowing when to play one.

lol mad much proffe chaos i believe i said "mostly" chromatic meaning not completely. The first measure only middle D F and G are missing from being a chromatic hence "mostly chromatic" I can go on the fourth measure the group of 8th notes skips over natural A and goes straight to A#

I guess if you really want to get in to it coltranes favorite way of soloing over the changes was with appreggios

also it would be stupid to have a key signature for this piece as it goes through three different keys rather rapidly

so I ask you proffe chaos where did you learn to be such a douche and assume you are always correct?

This is Off Topic, not Pedantic Displays.

Pedantic displays are off topic, and a specialty of Professor Chaos.

Oh, while we're on the topic of music, you still haven't sent me that recording to vocal-over, PC.

Oh, right... I'm actually working on it. I haven't bothered to record it myself, but I have three friends who play and we've put together an informal quartet... if I can whip them into shape we'll make a recording, but I still want good equipment... Plus, I'm kind of ADD when it comes to projects and have recently been having some fun with Metallica on the Trombone. I want to make a new recording of Glóra, too, that isn't such a rush job and fixes the minor tuning and severe timing issues, but hey. Homework and slacking are the top priorities, then everything else.

Metallica on the Trombone? This I must see.

Or perhaps hear? I'm working on it, but it's slow going... school is top priority... but hey, Trombones are made of metal, right? So they should manage metal music. There's no way I can do the really fast solos, but I can do some fun Metallica stuff on my Trombone.

Still haven't done much on my own personal music projects, but I found this, which gives you an idea of what you can do distorting a Trombone through a guitar amp. This is the sort of stuff I'd like to experiment with if I had the moneys for the equipment.
