Erm, I actually wasn't thinking of using race tracks. I was thinking of having a super cool roid that was shaped like a maze- Dev made (that's why I was thinking of the size of the CTF sector).
Too tight for a 1v1 duel is GOOD if you ask me.
We need more fights in dense roid fields, fog, tubes, etc. Makes things interesting and makes the same-old-tactics everyone has been using for years go out the window. Gotta adapt. :)
Personally I love fights inside hollow asteroids and in weird environments. They're fun.

The Infinity combat/pvp model has enormous asteroids with tunnels dug into them, along with a central chamber, in every map. They're incredible... interconnecting caves, branches every few seconds, dead ends, secondary chambers, unpredictable and unmappable passages everywhere. We could use a few of those.
