In her name, We stand.
With her blessing we fight, and with the glory of the domain, I pronounce the victory for the fifth week in a row.

By the grace of the Lady, I raise my toast to you, fellow Serco.

Cargo shipments completed. Total delivered: Itani 1697, Serco 2487.
The Serco Dominion received the most cargo deliveries, and have been able to construct a special weapon. This weapon will be available at all Serco stations for the next seven days.
Scheduling new shipments. Nation cargo surplus: Itani 339, Serco 0.

For any Itani (or Serco & UIT) who would be interested in learning about & getting involved in Capture the Cargo (CtC), check out the appropriate section in the sticky thread FAQ 2.0a and the Cargo Captures page (over on the left) to see the current score. I'd love to see more Itani & Itani friendly UIT get involved, this is just embarrassing.

it is getting a little silly. everytime i'm able to participate in CTC, it seems i'm the only one on both offense and defense. It's sad. In CTC the serco outnumber us 10 to 1.

Yeah, this is pretty absurd at this point... come on... 5 in a row isn't bad luck. And its not really serco brilliance either. Something is up. And in order for this game to be truly fun, the competitions need to have FAIR teams :).

(not that I want to play for a team, I just stand to make more money when the itani have a chance of winning)

We gained a 1000 cargo lead over the weak Itani!
Muhahahahah!

800 + surplus > 1000

something that is interesting is that you -can- actually win against all odds. Its harder now that CtC'ers have gotten more experience (I doubt I'd be able to pull off the "Nab three transports from six defenders, solo, and get the cargo and myself out" against the current crop of fighters ;)

However, teamwork is necessary. And fun. :)

Although we try to keep things to the "fun" part, that is, make an effort without turning CtC into a "job" for us, its sometimes hard to step away and let a few convoys go. Even if we try our best.

The problem is that almost every vet in the game is on Serco. The problem is that Serco outnumbers Itani almost 100% of the time period (not just the vets outnumber ours, but the total numbers outnumber ours). The problem is that of the people Itani has online, most are n00bs that don't even leave station (I've seen some people with all 0's across the board sitting in station for a half-hour. They log in, sit in station, log off). The problem is that CtC is a fight of sheer numbers, now that it's turned into a two-faceted battle. The first facet is the missile spammers. The second is the people in Centurion Mk3's who zoom by, uncatchable, and grab the cargo. That's why. No matter how good our teamwork is, I've never been online at the same time as more than 6 of my fellow Itani pilots who were interested in CtC. And that time, there were something like 11 Serco veterans. Might I make note that I was the only pre-beta player present for the Itanis? We can't win with those odds.

@NoAddedSugar: nycblkboy's post was moved to the Suggestions forum.

@roguelazer: While I'll agree that Serco have more vets, I'm going to have to call you on the "[Serco] total numbers outnumber ours". Looking at the Active Players Graph, the blue line is usually above the red (although not always, and not often by a whole lot).

Anyway, unhappy as it makes me feel, I got to say the same rules apply to Serco as Itani, so they won fair-and-square. I'm just dead set on winning fair-and-square this week.

Serco:
Ayn Eziert

online do not mean we are all in CtC...
so ur post above is not correct.

currently there are 3x itanis online than sercos.

you are outnumbered us.
but difference is that we are more active in CtC.

Let's add this: let's fight again and again, Itani people. We cannot win without trying. And we don't give a **** about Serco's propaganda here or on channel 100 and we don't care about the majority of them being vets :)
Dr Sun's prescription for this new week: be prepared to die for your Nation!

Some of the reasons Itani don't participate:

1. The Serco blow up their own convoy and deliver the cargo themselves in uncatchable ships. Then they gloat about these "successes" on 100.

2. The Itani convoy is frequently destroyed the instant it appears. There's no chance to defend it, and there's no chance to catch the Serco speeding away with the cargo (unless you just happen to be at the perfect intercept spot already). (I know there are tactics against this, but they're too hard for non-vets to pull off, especially when #3 is taken into account, or they require risking hatred by Ineubis.)

3. As has been pointed out, Serco veterans overwhelmingly outnumber Itani veterans. Frequently, there are zero Itani veterans online. You just can't throw enough newbies at CtC to overcome what even 2 experienced vets can accomplish.

4. The experience of Itani newcomers is rotten. A typical example: three Itani newcomers try out CtC, trying to figure out what to do on their own since no other Itanis are involved (and no vets are even online), and they get massacred by a single Serco vet. They stick around for 4 or 5 convoy runs, but since they are getting hopelessly overcome every time, and because they face unsporting tactics like #1 and #2, they give up and don't come back.

5. UIT vets are Serco allies (or even SAF leaders), and help them in CtC. I have never seen any UIT help Itani, and the board supports the conclusion that it hardly ever happens.

6. A number of Serco (and allies) seem to be superadmired in Itani space. So when -any- Serco follows the Itani convoy into Edras (I-2) and Jallik, you have to leave them alone because it's unwise to shoot.

7. Too many Serco express a win-at-all-costs attitude, which manifests in the way they play CtC and in the comments made on public chat channels. It just isn't any fun playing with people like that, and you can expect fewer and fewer Itani to participate as long as that attitude persists.

1) wrong. we don't do that

2) Same with Itani

3) 2 newbs can kill a lower-vet if they team up. And they do.

4) ok.perhaps I am no Itani....

5) nope. Last week: 10 Itani-UIT vs 3 Serco-UIT

6) They are no thread. A Itani -admired Serco cannot kill a trans in Itani space. He will loose all his standings and days of silly botting. All of this posts are a result of ONE Serco who did this ONCE

7) no comment

Re wylfing's observations:

1. I never saw it happen.
2. We can do the same in Sedina L2. In fact we did it a few times in the past.
3. If this community thinks that only vets can play, post-release players can leave. Blue newbies can outplay red vets on a CtC run. This is a fact. They will not advertise it on channel 100 though.
4. I cannot count the times when CtC grouping is requested on channel 11 with almost no success to then suddenly see other Itani in the action. Only us can be blamed for not coordinating.
5. UIT players helped us last week like they never did. Numbers on the CtC page do not tell it all.
6. It is a very valid point.
7. Turn off channel 100. I did it quite a few weeks ago. A pity but a necessity if you want to keep on playing.

We will not win if we look for excuses.
