No doubt another *judicial adjustment of existing character standings* coming soon.
P.s, can i have my standing reset also? Besides the fact that my UIT standing started -1000 (i never reported) I accidently shot a UIT pilot outside a UIT station, and also an itani in itani space, I did not realise i would be penalised, as they are my enemy.
And fyi, its impossible to take out an entire strikeforce, they just keep re-spawning. Maybe its time people realised although this is a player versus player game, there are rules to shooting people.

Mine too, I really didn't know that killing that bloody miner outside the station would actually hamper my standing.
And not to speak of the evil itani exploiters flying along beside the transport! I really shouldn't lose all my standing with itani for attacking them in the back and blowing them up!

The Serco pilot that Captain GameJunky killed (Amarus) has 3 CTC kills this week and 8 cargo deliveries for Serco. Looking back in the CTC history, he has a number more CTC kills. He may be many things, but "loved by all" is not one of them. Killing an active CTC player of the opposing nation in one's own nation's space *on the convoy route* and getting knocked -1700 or so of standing is not, in my opinion, a desirable state of affairs. Of course there are rules to PVP; I think the rules in their current form yield bad play. The faction standings are artificial numbers that don't correspond well to the actions performed by the players.
I don't know what the solution ought to be, but the current situation is broken. When the Devs fix this, I will send each of them a 6-pack of their favorite (domestically obtainable) beer.

So your going to try and flame this... let me set the record strait... My main beef here is with shooting an enemy inside my territory and getting penalized by my government.. (IE. for the lesser minded.. an Itani see's a Serco in Itani space. Itani destroy's the Serco pilot because the Serco pilot his enemy and infringing on Itani space. Itani Government gets pissed off at the Itani pilot for destroying an enemy vessel and docks his wages severly..) Was that clear enough for you.. (Yoda and Spider) oh and Spider that was the worse flame attempt i have every seen.. im not even going to address that pile of crap for a post.
and Yoda im not talking about attacking enemies at stations in thier space.. Your lost comleatly as to the context of the topic apparently. This is about your standing with your own empire, not the other empires.
If your going to flame me.. atleast do it right..
Ohh and this is a player vs player game, your right. with one big acception. 'players' have to be scared to fire at thier enemy when the enemy is that 'players' territory , you call that PvP? I would expect to be hunted down by a pack of Rabid Serco 'players' if i was seen in Serco space by them, not left alone.. that would of been my whole reason for going there. To FIGHT! There should be those that are protected from being attacked by players (unless they accept or challenge someone to a dual)... and that would be new players under a certain ammount of Licences anything higher they are notifed that they are free game to any enemy that desides to fire (with the given there in a no fire zone)Thats PvP with rules. Although i feal if theres a Serco being attacked by Itani defence bots, or i attack a serco around an Itani station, I feal i should be able to shoot him without being shot at by my own faction defence bots.being attacked by them is total crap IMO. now around a nuetral station or Grey station i can understand being attacked, or even at a Serco station. IF i attack the Serco or UIT (of cource), or am hated by that faction.

The point I was -TRYING- to make is that your mental image of "serco==enemy" is Flawed.
Not all serco, Itani, UIT or whatever can be considered enemies, and the idiotic attempts at repeatedly striking players of a certain nationality, and ratifying it by "THEY ARE ENEMIES" is completely bonkers, and players who act based on that Deserve their assess locked out for being rabid gunswingers.

So were all supposed to just not shoot eachother.? what kind of PvP is that.. If I dont have a SET enemy then why do i get Red Blips on my radar.. If your hated by my faction, and your not my enemy, than just WTF are you, and visa versa.. I dont consider UIT to be my enemy.. i treat them as Neutral untill they shoot at me... What kind of MMOFPS game doesnt have an enemies to shoot at. If you dont want to be shot at by me then join my faction. (UIT excluded from last statement) to me PvP = if its RED its DEAD. Now if you have a positive standing with Itani your blip "should", but doesn't, show up as Green to me untill you take hostile action on me, another Itani, or an Itani vessle. THEN and ONLY then will I not attack a Serco. If you dont want to fight me then run. I admit there have been times when I havnt shot a Serco. For example i was sector/msged that they had no hostile intention and they were doing cargo runs. I just didnt feal like shooting him. Or catching him was next to impossable. But if its in my space and not UIT or Grey space, it doesnt matter either way, I will give chase and attempt to destroy you. AND i should be allowed to do so.
So to any Serco who reads this.. if you see me in UIT or Grey space and you dont want to be attacked and arent heading toward an Itani CTC ship or defending a Serco CTC convoy, Ask me and i wont attack you. But do keep your distance.
*mumbles something about his Cable provider choosing a bad time to screw with his connection*
FYI your mental image of a PvP FPS is Flawed. If its PvP there has to be an enemy, no questions asked. (unless your UIT and deside to remain Neutral or go positive with both factions) I shouldnt have to Challenge everyone i want to fight to a dual to get some PvP in.

So, the only thing i can read out of TS-Midknight's thread is, that every Serco player is the cannonfodder for the rest of you???

P.S.:

Hehe, i can see the next Itani whining when he shoots a Serco in UIT or Grey Space because of losing standing.

It all boils down to this.... Someone attacking your nation's cargo convoy is not necessarily an enemy. Protecting your own nation's cargo convoy is a crime with a serious penalty.
Makes perfect sense.
Makes perfect sense.
Please note that not all people who fly near it are necessarily -attacking- it. And if they do attack it (inside station zone) they become KOS, which means you can attack them (once outside the zone, that law applies to any and all).
And if they kill it, Their standing drops. Its not something you do easily.
However, if you are an itani pilot who just attack the (bug here: they are red even when loved!) pilots in the area outside a station, in a botting sector, by the transport..
You get what comes to you.

Spider, If it is a "crime" as you put it, to kill an enemy in your territory. Then do you mind explaining to me what the points of having factions is? If we get in trouble to killing the enemies then why not just have one faction.
gamejunky, the miscommunication between you and Spider seems to be that Spider is talking about "people who fly near [the convoy]" or (to paraphrase) "pilots that show up as red dots on radar", while you are talking about "enemies". The game mechanics show that not all red dots are enemies.
There is even an in-game hint about this.
"potentially hostile" players show up as red dots.
Potentially!
If a -serco- pilot is in -itani- space and sees a -serco- NPC trader, they are a red dot on the screen.
Oh well, they are certainly -not- "enemies" just because of that. Follow them into Serco space and they become green dots.
Just because somone is a red dot doesn't mean they are an enemy! Check it out yourself on a trader faction (Tunguska fex. ) by getting a positive reputation. The defense bots are still red.
Does this mean they are hostile? no. they are peaceful as small lambs in a cradle.
And even when you see red station guards, does that mean that you attack them?
Not?
So why do you attack all players that are red?

Solution:
Make sure all the ships you guy are painted green.
Make sure all the ships you guy are painted green.
Nobody is saying you should not shoot enemies inside faction space.
I do frequently, and even chase some targets and shoot them outside stations, knowing exactly what the result is going to be (and i think that some names in this thread will have been aware of that also, before they shot said enemy) - 3 hours+ botting to fix faction, or stay -1000 with said faction.
I did not intend to flame anyone, i was simply having a laugh at said players expense. I think the fact that an admired serco player in itani shows red is a bug that needs addressing, as the only itani in serco space i have ever seen with admire was green on my radar. Could the developers shed some light on this? Bug? Feature?

Okay okay okay. Clearly the faction system needs work. The point has been made and re-made, and the flames have been kindled. Please consider this matter "Under Review".
