Any idea if it is one Goliath per account or per alt?
I say keep the 800cu the shape is made for cargo !
And Catman all your alts can buy
And Catman all your alts can buy
I would also like to suggest that the TTM lose the "Frigate" title and be renamed "Hauler" or "Freighter" or what not. The current weapon load out on the Goliath makes it more of a corvette/frigate than the Trident. The Trident in retrospect has always been more of a freighter than a frigate. It has a measly one large port, no sensors, and extremely poor turret coverage, not to mention a large cargo bay for a purported warship.
Thanks Blazz (and Sieger)!

The Goliath is a very cool ship. I like it a lot!
I think the cargo space on the Gol is fine. I would like to see the TTM get a cargo buff 1200 is ok 1800 would be even better.
I would like the Gol to be able to dock in the TTM also. This would keep the TTM in the mix not make it replaced by the Gol.
Is no one else as excited by the mining potential of this ship? Just think 3 HD beams and 4 HE beams at the same time. With the shields those tough bot sectors, that were near impossible to mine before, can now be mined in style. This is a reason I say keep the 800 cu cargo.
There is no need to change the ports or turrets. The ship is sweet the way it is setup.
+1 bigger docking bay on the Gol though
I would definitely like to see more capship docks throughout space as well.
Building a TTM is hard. Probably too hard. Took me almost a year of focused effort and I had a lot of help from my guild. I still think the Gol should be a Manu ship. As others have said we have this whole conquered station system, and not as many useful things that can be manufactured. The Gol fits the bill nicely. Just please don't make the build as long and difficult as the TTM!!
Thanks GS for all the hard work!! You have made some happy pilots!!

Actually the trident benefits from a heavy stirm radar. And... I am mostly up for treating the gol as a combat ship, and just nerfing its cargo heavily... in regards to sieger abiut the 30 mill? Should be a case of put in the effort once, and then have easy access, like with the trident, not a pain in the ass evsry single time.
I dont have time to make up 30 mill per ship. Its just not feasible for players who cannot soend hours in game frequently.
The weapons do not make sense on a trade ship... but if the goliath was instead renamed as a small destroyer or something it'd make perfect sense - the gol with just enough cargo space to load one small fighter, and treat it like a trade escort corvette. Its smaller, and could defend a trident quite capably, whilst the slower bigger dent hauls the loads.

So, a few things. My own life is a little hectic right now, so beyond the massive push we did yesterday to get this all shipped out the door, I will only be responding sporadically.
- The mission timer has been removed! I set it to 1 minute. So, go nuts with blowing up Goliaths. It was there as an "emergency brake" in case we screwed something up, but I'm pretty confident in it now.
- I like (and appreciate) the fact that people seem positive about the Goliath overall.
- The Goliath was not widely tested. And, for the most part, Curt defined a lot of it.. which is why it's strangely kind of a battlewagon when it was intended to be a Freighter. I changed a lot of the stats at the last minute, but not things like port assignments or availability.. and there just wasn't time for internal play testing (by me).
- I left the cargo capacity static against the Trident, and I didn't think that was particularly appropriate, but we shipped it like that for the moment.. I thought it might lead to more active testing. The TTM should definitely have more cargo capacity than the Goliath, maybe by a factor of two.
- The whole release of this thing was really chaotic and hurried, in part because of all the unexpected server-outage issues and Android IPv6 not working and a lot of other "shift-on-the-fly" development that involved late nights.
Please keep the feedback coming, I'll be reviewing things in more depth when I get a chance. I may even do some "live" fast tweaks during the holiday / play-test period, if I can.

-rename to goliath destroyer, 300cu, hanger holds one ship
-buff dents to 1200cu, logistic repair/ frieghter frigate
-make manu for it, 20% effort compared to dent(a month most)
-20 mill insurance so when u kill one feelsgoodman.jpg
-make sure manu must be done at conq stations
Is that something we can all agree we want?
I havnt played this game for long, so im just adding what ive read over the thread here, not giving my own input.

After further testing this thing is just way to over powered with weapons. It can deshield a Connie with no problem which is insane.
Take it down to 2 large and and maybe 1 small port and 3 turrets.
Let us have the Terradon for a firepower ship. The lack of a dock and small cargo if any offsets the weapons load out on it.

I spent some time in Deneb yesterday and I killed 2 connis all by myself. CWMs and MPs made short work of it. It does feels over powered right now. Perhaps add a sensor package to the ship and reduce the the small port numbers. Or mess with the power cell grid.
Don't get me wrong, it is fun as heck tearing through cap ships. But the ship as it stands will need some comprises if it keeps the ports it has.

Every capital ship should be able to shoot down every capital ship, as with fighter craft wouldn't it be stupid if a valk could only be only be shot down by the Prom?
Thank you for making the timer-change and considering more changes, incarnate! You guys did a good job. Enjoy Christmas for now!

Dear god! NO! Do not touch the ports. Reduce the cargo to 2 or something, but do NOT touch these ports.
In all honesty, I know we all are used to flying the big bulky Trident with only 1 large port and zero ability to kill any other capship. But things change. I have the feeling incarnate will have Curt design many more new capships and they're actually coming this time. We need some capships with firepower. And why would the Teradon be the only capship with that power. We can start worrying about the Goliath being OP when the Tradon comes out and has less firepower.
The Goliath is still easy to kill after all and will fall quickly without group fighter support. Small capships being able to sink big bulky capships is no issue.
I understand the call for changing the Goliath so it doesn't completely ruin the TTMs role. But as I stated before, the best approach would be upping the TTMs cargo to 1200-1500 and lowering that of the Goliath to 500, maybe even only 400. It'd still be able to haul mass, but also fill the role of an allrounder with strong firepower. It's not like the Goliath can not be defeated. And if you'll worry about that, suggest to remove a turret to give it a blind spoot or something.
aaronund - Now that I do not agree with. The big freighters shouldn't shoot down the assault monsters. I'd be worried if a Trident Type M could sink a HAC...

@Sieger
Then having "invincible" warships is less of a joke and more of a reality. The Trident shouldn't be made useless by new capital ships and at the moment, having the Goliath capable of deshielding a dent is a smart move since it encourages more towards combat between capital ships than combat between fighters. Make it so that the three capital ships we have, have a similar relationship as the three size classes we have with fighters. Example the valkyrie can be shot by an EC and the EC can shoot down a valkyrie. I'm not saying it shouldn't be difficult for a trident to shoot down a HAC, but it should possible given certain circumstances.

But an XC cannot shoot down a Valkyrie. I totally see your points, aaronund. But I am saying that aslong as we get a good mixture of ships and there is no undefeatable ship that some people seem to be scared of, then we are good. What I said was mainly meant to underline that it's good that we finally have a capital ship with actual guns. But I'm not opposed to also giving the Trident Type M a second large port, so that it - in theory - could deshield a Goliath.
That I can absolutely agree with.
@Sieger
So you don't think the fact this thing can take out a Connie solo is cause for concern?
2 large and 1 small still gives it the fire power to desheild a dent and allow for some decent cap ship to cap ship PvP.
I brought up the terradon for the reason of it's loadout is already inline with other capships capabilities in the game and the asset already exists from a programming stand point, also it looks pretty badass and is wasted as an NPC ship.

I really like it, very much indeed! I desperately wanna keep it, or manu/buy one ASAP. Sadly, the trident is now useless :( please buff it or all the hard manu into it is wasted.
Some issues:
The docking bay is too small, you always bump like crazy (even with light ships!).
The guns arent aligned nicely on the model, to see that, go mine something.
Sometimes you only deal 1 dmg, even tough you shoot like crazy (4 aapb, 3 mp), this only happend in the levi sector tough (even once in my video, serco one was completely bugged, also see supp ticket).
Its supposed to be a cargo ship, yet its an agile capital fighter. I like that, so redesigning the trident with ~2k cu and the goliath as fighter not hauler with just aprox 400-600ish cargo (or leave it at 800 and even increase dent further).
Simply said: with this ship, the trident has gotten quite useless. I suggest to adjust both.

Something has to give if it keeps these ports. Drop the CU to 200 Get rid the shields and give it a turbo drain of 200/s. Call it the assault variant. (I was able to deshield and kill tridents in Deneb just fine without shields. Just ask that alpha720 guy as i deturreted the dent he was shooting me from).
Also have a cargo hauling variant with reduced ports, but include shields.

This thing is rad as hell. In its current form it is better than the trident in basically every way.
One thing that would be cool is if this thing would follow you through jumps. This addition to it alone would be amazing.
I've always thought the trident cargo was too low. So I wouldn't say that this ships cargo is too high. I would say that the trident needs a cargo boost. Maybe something like 600 for goliath and 1200 for trident.

I love this thing! I've lost one due to Boda Shandis, that cheeky bastard! Almost lost another last night when I accidentally shot it in the NFZ. This thing is speedy, and the ports are absolutely amazing. But like others have mentioned, the cargo space is mighty high for this vessel. It would compltely defeat the purpose of the TTM, lol. I say reduce it to 600 or just make the cargo space of the TTM larger. I mean, just look at the front of the Goliath. That's the cargo bay, is it not? That looks like it cold hold a ton of cargo. I'm leaning more towards just keeping the Goliath the same and making the Trident cargo space larger, but I am also fine with the cargo of the Goliath being reduced as well.
Edit: I agree with Darth on that
