Ok got a MS Surface, installed VO store app and it looks and runs great !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still no updated version from the store yet :( but other than no plugins its just like the windows version the way it runs!! Great work Guys :>)
Our latest update just got approved this morning, but I don't know how long it will take to be available.
ok thx Ray, anything you guys want me to test, just ask
plugins go in /user/your name/ AppData/Packages/<vo package>/LocalState folder
and they now work!!

So...I downloaded the update tried it log in and it said "your version is old , get lost" or something similar to that
Really? Was this on a PC with Windows 8, or some other device? If you could tell us exactly what it said, that might also be helpful.
Did the game work immediately before updating?
This is the weird Metro version on PC, I hadn't tried it in awhile as I was waiting for this update the last few weeks then I saw it had an update and blammo! says it's old
I just metro uninstalled it then metro downloaded it all over again and it worked...hope it isn't like that every time heh
Thanks for the update. I'm not sure what happened. It's like it didn't properly update the media.rlb.
Hey, I just got VO installed from the app store on my Acer Iconia W500 with Win 8. Works flawlessly so far, however I've not been able to get plugins working yet. I do not have a Packages folder in AppData\Local, any clue where else the plugins could go?
Also a random gripe, if I move another application on top of VO for more than a minute or so, it disconnects from the server. Having looked at the metro application lifecycle definition, I'm not sure its even possible to fix this, but IMO the game should be high enough priority so as to not lose connection.

The plugins go into 'plugins' folder, not Packages.
The Windows RT app lifecycle system pauses any app that is backgrounded for more than a few seconds. In VO's case, it seems to be around a minute. There's nothing we can do about it, as the OS pauses the entire app. I'm not sure if it pauses all threads connected to the app though. So if the network gets processed on a secondary thread, the connection may not time out but that's purely speculation.

Oops, I'm using regular windows 8, got Google happy and didn't see that this was for RT
Windows 8 Pro running under latest bootcamp (released 14/3) on an Apple Mac Pro laptop (mid 2009).
I can get out of the station and that's it. No keyboard or mouse control.
If I press the windows (aka cmd) key then I'm back at the start screen so the keyoard is okay.
Any suggestions?

Are you using the Vendetta Online version from the Windows Store in Windows 8? Or did you download the game from the website?
Dirk_Mage: you know there is a Mac native client, right?
