Yeah, video settings. Audio and other things work.
would really love it, if we could figure out why the plugins don't work on the windows store version because when the tabs play it they will want the plugins to work also, then I would use it more
It's simple, plugins do not work because the VO market vendetta.rlb is looking for em in
But it should be looking for em in
But it should be looking for em in
I got Metro vo to load a plugin
How?
It was a simpler single file plugin I did /lua dofile("main.lua") in the console (I moved it to the path with the config files)
It bitched when I tried to use target less due to all the sub folders so there is obviously some kind of pathing issue
It bitched when I tried to use target less due to all the sub folders so there is obviously some kind of pathing issue
That's because dofile() only recognizes what directory the currently-being-read-file is in during the plugin load sequence. After all plugins are loaded, dofile() assumes all files are in the VO folder unless a path is specified. Most (if not all) plugins are coded to call dofile('somefile.lua'). So when it reads the file "plugins/somedir/main.lua" it remembers main.lua is in plugins/somedir directory and adjusts the next dofile() call appropriately. But once the load sequence is done it complains because somefile.lua isn't in the VO directory, it's in "plugins/somedir"
@ draugath, could you pls write a plugin or whatever its called so that plugins can work in windows RT? pls.
no
k :(
We have a new build pushed to MS that should improve plugin loading, but we have no idea if or when it'll be approved. We're not have a lot of success with their certification process, lately. Anyway, we are trying to get improved plugin support going there..
if Targetless was built in to VO, that would be a perfect solution. I think anyway. thats about all I miss truthfully. anyway ok and thanks still testing
Win8 doesn't use the same updater as the other VO builds do?
it doesnt use an updater at all arf, it's a metro app. much like an apple store app.
Anyways ill keep an eye out for the updated version

just redown loaded VO from app store, must not be new version as no plugins work yet
AFAIK, the update of "assets" of VO are still handled by the VO app, it's just code changes that MS have to approve. So Win 8 Market still isn't as anal as say, the Apple one.
Anyway, my big sis got one of these Windows 8 tablets, so yeah. Will see how it works on that if I can convince her to install it :)

That sounds exactly like the iOS App Store rules, actually.

Technically yes and no. Certain things MS consider OK Apple would not, like paying someone else. Also I am sure Apple do not allow major asset changes in-client.

She is willing to test it! Go big sis!
