lol snax!
Can't you add a turret to the Ragnarok?
Or admit that you lied and release the Trident to us?
I kid. The Trident is almost unflyable in human hands. Just make sure that we can fly a Ragnarok two player, and I'll be a very happy man.

Nice Newspost!
It's up on mmorpg.com now!

Oh, sure the Trident is unflyable and useless, but its my favorite capship nonetheless. ^_^
I have a chronic addiction to ineffective vessels. Can you tell? =^p

What does that have to do with anything? There's no shortage of useless ships and equipment in this game.

Lecter's solution: let's add more useless (in his opinion) ships!
yah. great. that's what we call "constructive criticism" and "a useful suggestion" and the like. moving on.
Just make sure that we can fly a Ragnarok two player, and I'll be a very happy man.
On a more serious note, not sure I see the benefit of this. I see the benefit of having heavy weps platforms (like cappies and/or heavy trade ships)... but a Rag is too much of a light (comparatively) for me to see any advantage to making it two player. but that's just me.
A prom I sort of understand (especially given the backstory) as a two-player ship though. Now what would be REALLY interesting is if a homing missile (or better yet a flare-like thing) could be guided by a human in the secondary seat. I think that idea has is inherently balanced (depending on maneuverability and ammo of course), as there are two pilots... and two pilots should (of course) be harder to beat than just one.

I'm not going to make the first multi-player ship something specific to only one Nation (like the SkyCommand). That's not to say that it isn't an option for the future, just that I'm not going to debut the feature on a nation-specific ship.
I understand that the Rag is very light, but the fact remains that its a bomber. Lets face it: We don't need escort against pirates, so we don't NEED a flyable Heavy moth. What we NEED is a heavy weapon platform. I suggested the Ragnarok becausee it has a flat top, just begging for a turret. Its also described in game as a bomber.
(Note: Can we place our own weapons on the turret, with restrictions) I imagine that, for example, flares would be a bad thing, but if we could place, say, an AGT or even an ordinary Gatling Cannon, that would be great.)

I'd like to have the capability to jettison people into space. Can we add that feature?

I completely disagree with these assertions. And I think heavy bombers would be more in the sense of cappies.
maybe there would be a lighter bomber (the rag)... but I don't see the "NEED".

I don't trade much, but I don't know how often trader meets pirate. I don't think its often enough to warrant a flyable Heavy Moth. We have on average 40 to 60 players spread over 20 something systems. In my opinion, that goes to two players in each system on average. Sedina is the exception, so put 5 players in there on average at any time. Look: The population is simply too low in my view for it to be worth taking half an hour out of playing VO to escort a player's Heavy Moth or man a gun, save for the novelty of it.
Traders meet pirates plenty often... and given that grey space is going to have much more lucrative goods... people will be far safer with a manned gun on board.
It's probably going to be the Moth heavy since it's already in game, and people will use it. But who knows, the devs have surprised us before. I hope to see new multi-player ship models in the future.

Right now, my only real concern is that it works right. I'll be more interested in fiddling and balancing and gameplay debate once we get that far. (Feel free to continue discussing and debating, just understand why I'm not really involved).
nope you are all wrong! The first multi player ship is going to be the Levi MII!
How would the 2 players get in the ship?
The first player, I assume the one driving, would send an invite to another docked player in the same station?

How will the Factions treat the ship?
Let's say that I'm in the multiplayer ship, piloted by Ecka.
Will the UIT turrets try to obliterate us? (Because of my standing)
Will the UIT turrets leave us alone? (Because of Ecka's standing)
Or will the result be a combination of all of our factions?
Or does it just go by the "main" pilot of the ship.
This will be an easy way for me to sneak into UIT space, now. (COOL!)

Turreted Atlas ftw!
"as long as it doesn't have 40000 armor hit points those things are a pain to kill already they don't need human aimed turrets also"
That is the best argument in favor of a 40000 armor ship with turrets that I have seen yet. If the rats don’t like it then one can be sure that it is something the rest of the players will like and it will therefore be good for the game.
There has been a lot of talk lately about "driving" traders and miners into Gray space. Has it occurred to anyone that a major reason that many players don’t go to Gray Space is not “fear” but simply the fact that they don’t like many of the people they meet there?
Face it folks, many people don’t want to play with you. Perhaps you should simply play with yourselves.

Leber, well turrets are targettable separately, so third option is,
Strike force blows up the turret with hated pilot, lets the ship pass
or blows up the ship and lets the turret float in space.
