The hog2 with a fast charge power cell is a very fast long range chaser. The megaposi is a great LARGE port weapon, but you have to have 10 queen kills to buy it.

Many stations will sell you a hog2. Corvus will sell anyone a fast charge power cell. Other stations require that you have 4/-/-/4/- to buy a fast charge power cell.

If you are just going to be booming moths, the other option is a hornet2, fast charge power cell, and HX blasters. The HX has a much lower velocity and damage per second than the megaposi, but marginally better damage per energy, and a hornet can mount up to 4 of them, which is plenty of moth booming firepower.

i recently tried a vult and liked it much more than the hog2 bcs of its better agility. is that a viable choice or should i have stuck w/ the hog?

Vultures are one of the best dueling ships. Hogs are a better multi-role fighter.

pcirignano: you can start pirating anytime you like. I suggest you get more licenses before you start though. And try different ships and weapons and see which ones you like. At 2/2/1 you can barley get anything even at a courvus station. Go to sedina b8 and do some pvp. Are you going to take and sell the cargo? If so you need a better ship then the hog2. Like I an others have said before you can change from or too a pirate at anytime. Learn the game then decide.
