Changelog:
- Kill Forgiveness: Players may now "Forgive" PvP kills in
faction-standing loss situations. A window pops up for the dead player,
permitting them to "Forgive" the kill, within 15 seconds. Forgiven kills
have no impact on the killer's standing. This is necessary for the
impending Friendly Fire removal and other features.
- Changed 'Sell Selected' button in Commodities Sell tab to 'Sell Selected...'
to indicate that another dialog appears when the button is pressed.
- Corrected size of speed/energy/distance HUD indicators for
wide-screen modes.
- Corrected aspect of loading screen and startup splash screen
for wide-screen modes.
- Fixed trade xp exploit where it could be acquired at inappropriate times.
- Fixed bug where changing from one resolution to another with
the same height wasn't resizing the interface.
- Corrected ship buyback price display when not all items were bought back.

I see some widescreen fixes... I can't get ingame right now, does anybody know if fov persistence is fixed yet?
[edit]
To answer my own question, no. The fov still jumps back to 75 at every possible opportunity. 'kay.

FOV stuff hasn't been done yet. Probably next week. It'll be in the changelog when it happens.
Nice job on the widescreen fixes!
Wooo, I killed JE at a TPG station, and he forgave me! Wonder how many more times thats going to happen...
yay, updates are awesome. :D
question I have is why would someone forgive you for wacking them like that? That part does not make sense.
Because it might be an accident, especially for newbs. It will be used more when friendly fire gets taken out.
Still makes no sense. Why would you do that when you can simply take a proc mission or 3 and regain POS in under 5 minutes?
stop trolling moda.

Because any person with half an ounce of common sense will know that that will not be possible sometime in the near future.

I do believe that is the correct answer, but let's try to be civil.
Pointsman, am not trolling. This addition makes absolutely no sense whatsoever and is super ripe for exploits.
The only exploit I can see happening is free player kills to pad your stats, something that can be done in grey or any other unmonitored sector anyway.
Good update, interesting feature. I'm not sure though how often it will be used. If I was a noob and some other noob killed me, I think it would take longer than 15 seconds to sort the situation out. Not to mention the general spitefulness of those damn noobs!

It makes a lot of sense. What if I'm a newb and I accidentally kill someone in the NFZ? Instead of my standing being ruined, he could forgive me and everything would be all right.
And don't tell me they could just do procurement missions. They will probably be nerfed, and since in this situation I'm a newb with low levels, I wouldn't know to do that and I wouldn't have the tools/ships to do it effectively.

So you are telling me that a noob to VO will know if they should forgive them in 15 seconds? Odd's are they will not have a clue what it is or how it works and by the time they do will be minutes, not seconds after the kill.
I was doing faction raising stuff (back to POS is record time) *BEFORE* proc missions were broke.

That's up to the newbs to decide, not you BlackNet.
I'm sure you were, but not everyone is a trader. It's extremely boring for a lot of people, AND if your faction goes below Dislike you have to bot your faction up, which is even more boring (and newbs won't know about it).

Like slime says, I know in a game I pay for, I'd rather avoid doing "5 minutes" of proc missions. Especially since, as not a super duper trader, it would take me a fair bit longer than 5 minutes, and n00bs even longer. Don't forget that before you have licenses and money and standing, you only get really crappy proc missions. And what are these "exploits" you're so worried about? As Snax pointed out, it really doesn't change anything except that you can do stuff at a station instead of in an empty sector.
However, I do agree that 15 seconds seems a bit arbitrary/weird/too short. Why can't this just stay up until they make a decision?

because the opposing players faction stays in limbo until that pilot chooses
So, if I kill a noob and he doesn't know to forgive within fifteen seconds, that's exactly what this is for, because then my standings go down for killing that noob. This makes so much more sense than a mission to fix your standings. This also has big application in such events as nation war.
Maybe to help this be self-explanatory for noobs and to help RP, the dialogue box should say something like "You have been killed by a member of your own faction. Would you like to report this to the authorities as a crime, or ignore this as an accident?" (I don't know what the dialogue says now.)
