lnh: Yes, I'm aware of that. I lived in the caribbean during one of the high points of Columbian cocaine smuggling, some pretty scary stuff happened within my immediate vicinity.
The example I cited, however, were drug *mules*:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug_mule
"n 2003; statistics confirmed that over 50% of foreign females in UK jails were drug mules from Jamaica. [3]. Nigerian women also make a large contribution to the remaining figure.
In all, around 18% of the UK's female jail population are foreigners. 60% of which are serving sentences for drug related offences - most of them drug mules."
By and large, these are not hardened criminals, these are people who are expected to have a higher likelihood of passing through security clandestinely. If you're trying to smuggle an item across a border, and don't want attention drawn to it or don't have the firepower to take on the border patrol directly, it makes sense to do it secretively.
Shaded: at the time when I wrote that (11 days ago), people were failing in large part due to a mission bug, which I temporarily worked around but couldn't really fix (and am trying to fix now, which involved fixing the mission editor, etc). Once that was done, people started passing the mission just fine. I will, however, consider a multi-failure counter to catch people failing too many times.

Owned.
hrmm that may be in the UK, But I was talking about the USA. A large percentage of the cocaine, meth, and marijuana smuggled into this country simply walks across the border un impeded, as seen here the vast majority of what is not made in this country is brought across the US/Mexico border. If by chance the border parole does stop the smugglers you can bet the cartels will raise hell on them for it, though they still prefer to avoid drawing unwanted attention to them selfs.
That being said, in the case of a space station, It's rather counter productive to shoot your way in to smuggle in goods. It's a much simpler task to search the station than a country, especially if the goods have to be unloaded from the ship with a forklift. So as I said, why not make versions of the mission that require you to smuggle into serco or itani space?

Whoa more people smoke weed in the Us than canada O_O
Thanks to Marc Emery - aka The King of Pot ;-) and he's Canadian.
lnh: I don't think that would be as helpful as you believe. Most of the people who have complained the most loudly on this have told me that they *are* KoS with all three nations. Better to make an entirely different mission that has no predisposition towards any nation, and allows pirates to.. be pirates. I endorsed this idea earlier in this thread, but I haven't had a chance to write the thing yet.
Yeah, but you have to wonder how they come up with those statistics...
"Excuse me sir, I was wondering if I could ask you a few questoins. Number 1: are you a pot head? Okay, Number 2: are you a coke head? I see."
