Not to be a kiss ass, but having not even tried the mission I still think it's great. That sort of smuggling gig is something I'm sure people, myself included, have been long awaiting in VO. Besides, Corvus already has the Vulturius Superlight...
I can't see the mission in Corvus station in Sedina. My UIT standing is bit above zero, and Corvus standing around -120. Therefore I assume the UIT standing requirement Incarnate mentioned is not the only one. :)
do you only get the one superlight atm? I mean the one that you get for the second mission. And what happens if you fail the second mission you cant retake it but it shows the first mission again. Are we still waiting for a later mission to be able to manufacture it like the widowmaker or will it just be purchaseable?
I got through the mission now. It's nice although some of the dialog is a bit corny :P
Just for the hell of it I messaged that guy in nyrius "I would know!" and he still accepted it. how sensitive is that thing?

I know this may be beyond the scope of what incarnate plans to do but ... If you're really broken up about not being able to take the mission because your standing is too low, help write the pirate half. Apply to the PCC and make an attempt to contribute with missions that fit your style of play. The mission tree could require that you have hated standing with your own faction or something to that effect.

Well, if someone wants to be a pirate, and as a result can't take this mission, why not get this ship the pirate way? Steal it! It would be cool if in the distant future there was such an option; but I assume a mission could be written now that simulates stealing a ship.
This mission should be much harder but much shorter than the legal version. It should involve intelligence gathering to find where one of these ships will be traveling at a certain time, and it should require teamwork. You'd have to bring pirate buddies along to distract/destroy any escorts the ship may have, and then take the ship.
Is it possible to have a mission parameter that, if all the ships escorts are destroyed, and at least one ship is within a certain distance, you can hail the ship and tell it to dock at a specific station? If so, once that is done, you can dock at that station, too (as long as you do so within a certain timeframe), and now you own that ship.
A salvage version of this mission would be interesting, too. It would be more legal, but you'd have to beat a lot of competition, and it would be expensive.

If ships are jettisoned, they are between 100 and 300 cu, but they lack an engine.
Yes, but the Centurion *Superlight* would probably be considerably lighter. :P
Failing the second mission ("High Risk Courier") resets progression back to requiring the first mission ("Corvus System Recon"). This was done to prevent trivial exploitation of the Courier mission giving you a free Superlight and Widowmaker. Completion of the Courier mission opens up the Superlight Manufacturing mission, which functions just like the one for the Widowmaker.
I'm a little surprised that people are failing the Courier mission (more than are passing it). Maybe it's just a few people who are retaking it to check out the different forks? Or, heh, deciding it's easier to re-take the Recon mission than to craft a Superlight. I guess I should add a failure counter or something.

Ok, I found a bug in the mission that could cause failures under certain circumstances. Hopefully that was the problem, I re-posted with a short-term fix.
Maybe the problem is that people get scared and enter the Edras > Verasi wormhole when the Raptor scans you, instead of staying still.
I ran the first time, but the connie followed me and scanned me in an empty sector.
Connie? It was a raptor for me. :(
Haha slime you didn't want my advice about the scanning raptor and it made you FAIL :P
I did it easily after that... >.>
The raptor was never supposed to show up that early. Anyway, it shouldn't happen now, but I still have to fix the mission more correctly, to handle all cases.
yes both times I failed because I tried to get away from the raptor so it wouldnt scan me so since slime told me to SIT STILL I am sure I'll be able to get it.
is there any reason there can be versions of the mission to smuggle what ever it is into serco and itani space. not many players are kos with all 3 nations.
also,
"As another aside, if you look at people who actually *do* smuggle stuff, currently.. like say.. drug mules, you'll notice they don't hire mass murderers to do their smuggling. They try to find nice, bland people (often attractive women, in that example) who they think will be given an easier time by customs, and will blend in. It would not be logical to hire someone who is very likely to get stopped.. to smuggle your goods."
"Drug cartels, smuggling rings and gangs operating on both the Mexico and U.S. sides are increasingly well-equipped and more brazen than ever before in attacking federal, state and local law enforcement officials," said subcommittee Chairman Rep. Ed Royce, R-Fullerton, at the opening of the hearing.
"Border Patrol agents are being assaulted in increasing numbers. Some border areas can be accurately described as war zones."

It's just one little mission that made it into production for testing. Let them work the bugs out and then there will be all sorts of missions all over the place.

I am not...
the cent SL is written out to be worth 1200 cr.
infact it's actuall prize is closer to two million cr per ship factoring a little of the time in, needed to bring the materials to a corvus station.
say the same time you would just do escorts to pay for expenses of material, and the recon mission again is way cheaper + less time intense!
so to fix this i suggest you rethink manufacturing costs and make failing the smuggle mission decrease faction with corvus. aborting decreases more faction.
