killed the levi and no bots died and corvus is not jumping out

10 minutes later the levi respawns

ugh is right. Good to know its available.

Actually, I think what was happening with the Agro is that "I" was setting the capital ship to hostile by running into it, as it had full shields and there was no way I could have been damaging it. I would look at how sensitive players are to being damaged, and not NPC's.

Might want to allow players to set that themselves in some fashion.

I also noticed that if I blew up an Orun mining next to a cent, that the cent, and some other Corvus ships would show as red to me as well. I suspect the Orun explosion is somehow getting attributed to the killer of the ship.

Also, does anyone else think it odd that when you lose the mission, all the hive bug out of the sector as well? Shouldn't they strengthen their hold on the area after a success like that?

They weren't leaving last time I played a mission... As a matter of fact, I was sort of disappointed that the first mission had _no_ effect. I played one mission, killed hundreds of Hive bots, then played a second mission and did the same thing. The "bots to kill" count doesn't seem to go down at all!

When I took it and we "suffered too many losses", everyone bugged out, hive included.

New bugs.

Took mission in sector H-16, no nav set, flew to sector. No hive but tons of Corvus

Aborted mission. Took one for F-10. Nav was set to H-16, and I got grouped with Corvus in H-16.

Aborted. Took mission in A-11, Nav set to F-10 Grouped with Corvus in F-10

Flew to F-10, was dropped from F-10 Group, mission for A-11 still showing. No hive presence.

Flew to A-11, no hive.

Buzzed around A-11 while typing this, came back and was grouped with A-11 Corvus.

Also, took a very long time to enter station when I first logged in. Seemed laggy but with 60+ fps. I think the server might be in trouble.

fater a cup of coffee and 2 cig. still not entering the station sedina D-14. think maybe the server has big problem

test server is borked im stuck at entering station :(

now i got in and the sectors crash every minute or so i keep getting dissconnected

A new version is up which may fix the worst of these problems and will at least give me more info about what's going on.

I love the new hive, however, the queens seem too easy. It's still possible to take their shields out with a single spam rag. The battles don't seem quite as impressive if I can fly in and win by immediately killing the queen. I've even managed to do it without getting hit. Maybe it would be a good idea to make the shields stronger or make rags higher priority targets for bots or something.

I'm trying to figure out why you wanted to bed mom.

That certainly isn't something you would see on the test server every day.

BTW, Just did a mission and lost too many ships, and the hive left faster than my NPC buddies.

Only thing that stayed in the sector was collectors , and observers.

Also, collectors don't do anything when they finish collecting, the just kinda sit around the asteroid they finished mining.

Several problems this evening with my group deciding to start shooting at me for no apparent reason. I guess it must have been shrapnel from exploding hive bots which turned them against me.

One almost-crash (octree warnings) where all objects vanished from view, though the Hive was still able to shoot me.

Losing a small skirmish resulted in NPCs leaving, the Hive staying, then NPCs coming back a couple of minutes later as part of a new mission before I'd had chance to bug out myself.

You still gain lots of XP and cash for shooting bots after the mission has ended.

I can't get the test server to work. i can log in, but as soon as i leave the station it gives a "Connection was closed by server" message.

New fixes in place. Please don't kill the Levi until I post about it- I haven't fixed the double-levi bug yet.

Does this new hive system remove the pathetic techniques the current ones use? Like getting up in your face and doing loops around you pretending to be gnats or trying to crash into your ship. Both of those are pretty lame and very disappointing. There are some others to but those 2 comes to mind.

The new hive is only attempting to replicate what the old hive does. Don't expect a lot of change. We won't start changing things until we've at least been able to stably reproduce what we already had.

Several more bug fixes are in place on the test server now. The following have been fixed, in particular:
* Double-Levi
* Rewards after the mission ends
* Generally borked missions (eg no bots) after things had been running for a long time
* Hive bots now mostly stick around when the Hive wins (they're reused by the next mission).

It would be especially helpful if people took missions in groups and took out the Levi once or twice. If you take it out, the whole hive should blow up and missions should end in favor of the humans. No HS missions should be posted for 30 minutes and then it should respawn (currently with like 10 sectors, but it will start small in production).

okay progress had been made but your not there yet mom me and omega logged on 2 hours after your post and recorded many similar bugs

1) [survivors] killing the levi killed all the bots in the Levi sector and minutes later the NPCs jumped out too
without a mission active i went to roids and spotted loner bots flying alone some of them were shot at by the remaining NPCS some were not the NPC's never left thoses sectors several minutes after omega killed the hive in all the buggy sectors

2) [mission are still active] after killing the levi many missions stayed active most of them had a loner bot flying around

so far thats it but i doubt thats all of it

We started 30-40 minutes after momerath posted, not 2 hours. :P

I didn't kill all the bots in buggy sectors. I killed a couple Oruns that were remaining in 1 sector, and I killed a bunch of NPCs in the same sector as well.
