Serco are a persecuted minority... I'm being dead serious here.

The difference between Serco and Itani is more than just numbers, it's a mindset. The Itani seem to have it in their minds that harassing the Serco is the most fun to be had in the game. They don't care about sportsmanship, and they certainly don't care about being polite.

As a Serco, I'm trying to level up and become competative, but I just can't. I try to go into Border Patrol, and Itani show up who aren't even taking the mission just to get in my way. They kill me over and over again, and even if I manage to kill one of them, I don't get credit. Sometimes they go to B-12 and cut us off at the wormhole, killing us as we jump in, and keeping us from getting to B-12 in the first place. They prefer to shoot us in the back or gang up on us rather than fighting fair in one on one, but then, how can it really be fair if I'm still struggling to level up, and they're flying border guardians and valkyries? To add insult to injury, they gloat about their victories against us on global chat. I ask them to fight fair, but they don't. They just keep abusing us, an action that is made easier by the fact that we're always outnumbered.

I've lost so many ships to the Itani and so much money trying to get to Combat 6, that I keep having to go back to mining or trading, again, and again, and again. I spend more time trading for money so I can work on leveling up combat than I do fighting.

I'm sick of it... I've had enough. I'm giving up and starting over as UIT. Maybe I'll become a pirate... at least then when it's me against everybody, I won't be pressured to keep throwing myself at them for the sake of a hopeless fight.

if you want fair fights, go to latos h-2, deneb is a warzone where fairness is non existant and proms make itani take advantage of every easy kill they can get.
what do you expect when you are invading another nations territory?

We were fighting in vultures, not proms. We can't even get proms. I can't get the levels to buy good ships and weapons by fighting in latos.

It's a game, bean. We're not invading your home. We're just trying to play a game and have fun, and you are making that impossible.

It's not about who's fighting where. It's about values... who's fighting for what reason, and how they are fighting. I'm fighting to level up, my fellows are doing the same, or fighting to have fun or for the challenge. They care about sportsmanship; they try to fight fair, and we're all just out to have a good time. The Itani on the other hand... from what I've seen, the Itani don't give a damn about fighting fair. They're out to have a good time too, but to them that means getting in the way of our good time. They out number us, they gank us, they do everything they can to come out on top, no matter how much of an advantage they have. They even use dodge scripts that make their little ships all but impossible to hit. Then they revel in it and brag about it on global chat... it's all very degrading, and discouraging.... I try my best to fight, but no matter what I do, the Itani try to undermine it. They gang up on me and kill me while I'm botting, and whenever I have one of them alone and am actually doing good against them, they run away and come back with friends. On the other hand, my fellows and I have no choice but to stay and fight to the death. Even if we tried to run like they do, we can't outrun their valkyries or border guardians.

When we're just trying to survive and have fun, they're trying to make our time in game miserable. I honestly think that they get more enjoyment out of killing defenseless Serco and hearing them complaining about it on global chat than they do out of playing the game.

it doesnt matter that you werent in proms, the itani objective is to keep serco out. there are many other places where you can get fair fights, but deneb is a place where its pretty much agreed by everyone that theres no such thing as a fair fight there. if you have problems with being ganked then just get backup or do something else.

Deneb is a War. Look for duels in greyspace, just watch for the pirates. Maybe the Deneb missions (BP and BS) should emphasize that in their descriptions; I remember those 9th SF guys having the exact same complaint.

Two or three low-level players is all the backup we have, bean. And yet, even though the Itani have three higher level players on their side, THEY call for backup so it can be six of them against two or three of us. But like you said, it's all fair, right? I mean, who could expect the Itani to not use everything they have and then some against a couple of newbs.

I always figured you were an ***[RR] by how you fight, bean. I guess the way you've responded to this thread kinda proves the point.

Last night you intentionally tanked a Serco newbie's home standing in GR while attacking us in our own space. I'm sure everyone should look up to you and your definitions of what's "fair."

It doesn't really matter at this point, because like I said, I'm changing to UIT... yet it makes me sick to think that the best way of leveling up as a UIT is to join the Itani in BP... I'll have to decide if the levels are worth the shame of fighting beside them.

Serco in Deneb, and elsewhere, will be pwned on sight.

i never intentionally tanked anyones standing, teutonic attacked me with swarms and he even said sorry too. if you have problems with the way the fighting goes on in deneb just go down to grey space and do some ctc or duel in latos. you have to just move on to something else for a while if something isnt working out the way you planned.

you convinced me. i am planning to make a comeback in june, and when i do i will join Serco and join the war. hope to find you still on the baricades.

You know, IMO, Deneb should be grey space with no stations in it whatsoever and make Deneb B-12 a dual-wormhole sector. Because as Serco, we have to fly through Deneb B-12 to get to C-10 while Itani just need to make a single jump. This means sometimes there are like... 3 Itani Teradons camping the wh and they kill you in the animation. Either that or you get intercepted by an itani td as you jump out of B-12. It sucks. But otherwise, I wouldn't complain 'bout getting killed in Deneb, but I must admit it's pretty annoying sometimes when Itani gloat of victories in 100 chat and try to say that although Serco has less players, they have the overpowered Prom.

Serco's don't whine, you worthless sod.

Seriously. Try joining the Itani side against a few Proms and then post in this thread, Chloroform.

Border patrol = not where new players should be leveling. Try do an advanced combat mission in a group instead. Serco players invading deneb will always be countered by itani players.

Border patrol is a PVP mission with bots to fill in for lack of players. If you don't wan't a war, don't start one.

while the whiny nature of the post makes me kringe, i agree on certain points. most notably, the border patroll abuse of not taking the mission and enjoy the bot-free resistance.

this way of abusing the broken (by design) mission is downright sleezy and totally wrong. i've actually logged a complaint to the guilds in question (this includes itan) in the past and it has helped a bit.

chloroform, my suggestion is that you avoid bs and bp altogether for leveling. also, know that most guilds dont like having a reputation of abusers so note who does this, make a formal complaint to the guild officers and hope they start to play nice.

No, they still attack. Sometimes I forget to take the mission if I hear of some Serco doing BP and I want to hurry to C-10.

War zone or not, it's a pretty crappy tactic. Going to the B-10 without taking the mission doesn't create any opposing bots, but it does for the serco side who ARE taking the mission, meaning the Itani get to outnumber the Serco AND have Itani bots on their side. Worse, when the obviously outgunned serco do have a success, they don't get any credit for it. It's a tactic for losers. There's no gameplay justification (RP or otherwise) for exploiting an obvious flaw in the mission design to harrass and subvert other players enjoyment and progress in the game. You're no better than a station camper.

Slime73- I leveled on the Itani side against many proms. It can be frustrating to be sure, but using it as an excuse to exploit the mission and ruin other peoples gameplay is cowardly.

I don't know how hard it would be to implement this, but if you enter C-10 and you're eligible to do BP, the game should immediately put you in it. After all, no one goes to C-10 for anything other than BP.

About 9/10ths of the time I'm doing BP without a mission for whatever reason, there are still Serco bots.
