Hmmm... I got run over about a month before I discovered Vendetta (full story at http://web.cecs.pdx.edu/~trent/dfcrash.html ), so it's good to finally know why it happened :-)
Incarnate, I know it's been said many times, but it bears repeating: Best wishes to you + your girlfriend, may she have a speedy recovery. Take care of her and yourself, the game can wait.

Haha we should make a club of lucky VO playing vehicle accident victims
I hope her recovery is swift, and wish you both the best for the future.

Now, if it had been a DAD'S™ Rootbeer, I could understand, Borb. Glad you're on the plus side of crippled as well.
p.s. I spent 3 years in WF while in the AF. ;)

I just wanted to add my support to this thread.
With that said, I'd like to say that the chipped tooth bit, with axel grease, was the part that hit me the hardest, but I have no idea why.
Ouch.
Still, pain is better than the alternative, right?

i lost a finger 22 years before i started vo.
does that count for anything?
does that count for anything?
uh... dont think that counts anymore than me driving my grand parents, 1 and only car, down a hill into a bunch of trees where the trunk lid was smashed cuz it was open at the time. Cadillac gear shifts seemed to change very easily then... >.>
Wow. I've been a little out of touch with VO for the past few weeks, and am only now catching up.
Allow me to chime in with my own expression of sympathy concerning the current circumstances, and gratitude that it wasn't worse.
Best wishes, both of you.

All the best to you and your girlfriend man, biking is cool but this is horrible. Hope she's gonna come through just fine.
Eeek!
Poor her...
I hope your girl friend gets well soon :)

Oh my God....I just read this for the first time. And I'm am so so SO sorry for her and you. I can't even imagen how that must have felt for her physically or you emotionally.
She is soooooo lucky and somebody *me points up* was watching out for her.
I'll pray for a quick and full recovery for her.
Best wishes,
Macguyitani

yeah, incarnate, i was thinking about your gf a couple of days ago (nothing kinky) and was wondering how's the recovery going?
care to give us an update?
care to give us an update?
As of the last visit to the surgeon, another two weeks before she can get the leg splints off and try walking a little. Then physical therapy will start (no point until she can walk), and hopefully she'll be ambling around in no time. We'll see <fingers crossed> :).
Her collarbone breaks are healing well, she basically has most use of her arms back, which is very cool. We've been going on walks around my neighborhood occasionally and she pushes herself around in her wheelchair, which is way cool and a huge improvement.
She's going a little stir-crazy being stuck in my house all the time (we try to go out to movies and things from time to time, but it's logistically involved), and unable to walk, and unable to be self sufficient and all that. But we're doing ok and she's mending really well, all things considered.
Thanks for all the good wishes everyone. We're really lucky and thankful that she's still alive, and very mindful of that.
I'm still at much less than 100% on my guild workload, but doing what I can, trying to get the game and the company ready for more users, and juggle the rest of life. Never a dull moment.

Thanks for the update, John. Glad to hear you're both doing well :)
It might be odd for a user to say this, and far be it from me to tell you what to do, but maybe you should take a little (just a little! ;) break after this? We don't want you to become burnt out :)
i dont wanna sound insultive or what not... but...
Inc... remember that convention you were talking about and having people dressed up like ships for a (it was just a topic of choice thing, not planned or anything so dont get your hopes up!!!) VO convention... Maybe your gf could outfit a ship around her wheel chair for it, would be pretty cool if she flew around the Guilds parking lot as one of the ships. Amusing more so than anything else, but it'd be cool. :-D

I would TOTALY dress up for a convention, i've asked my girlfriend and so will she.
Also, ummmm, this might be personal, but do you have insurnce from guild software? Because I could imagen this would be kind of hard to pay for.
Damn! I wish I was a millionair, I'd throw money at VO and it's devs like crazy.
