Awesome update! trying out the border skirmish now!
The border skirmish looks pretty amazing :). I can't wait to get more stuff like that in the game. Please give us feedback on how well it works for people though, and if any problems crop up.
Those new guns by the Teradon are freakin amazing lookin from a distance, got a few good screenies myself. I wish those were implemented into the HAC and Tridents too.....

Those guns are damn cool. I've been waiting to see what kind of heavy weaponry the capship might get. Can we get some numbers on those guns? They certainly seem to take out player ships fast enough if they are unlucky enough to be stating down the barrel of the Frigate's guns.
any possiblity of getting in the border skirmish as UIT? IIRC, the BP missions are available to serco/itani only...

the big gold guns do 12,000 damage apiece (four on each teradon), and go 90m/s. I should come up with some sort of interesting name for them, other than "john's wacky sphereoid of golden death".
I came up with the effect some months back, but couldn't really use it very well at the time. I saved it for a possible heavy-cap weapon, and it's worked out well in timing. Eventually I'd like some sort of grandaddy of that effect for the Goliath Cannon.
the effect is pretty graphically intensive, but it seems to be running ok for everyone? Even shape was on fighting the caps just now, and he has a pretty slow computer if I recall. I've tried to limit the number in the scene at any given time through a low rate of fire. eventually though I would like teradons to focus mostly on targeting other cap ships, and that might make for some pretty intense scenery. We'll see how it works :).

Well done, that rules, not only are the Teradons actually fun to fight (and dodging all the stuff its firing when it has all its turrets can be difficult, but its not a case of ZAP yer dead, its FUN), but my load times rule, and the occasional lag spikes I have been having also seem to be cleared! Woot!

You mentioned something about having certain weapons bias toward shooting at certain things. It would be really cool to set up rules that each turret follows about how they act. Then when we can fly our own cap ships we can configure all our turrets strategically and cap ship warfare will be way cool.

hmm.. the bug is a bit thinner than I expected from the screenshots... it seems to handle better, too; maybe that's just because that horrible annoying whine is gone; god how I hated that whine..

BS is awesome. And please keep the frequency low otherwise it will get boring too soon.
Got only a few shots from the first shootout and the quality isn't too great. I was a little to busy getting nuked afterwards. :P

The big golden weapons didnt slow me down at all, and the Teradon is AWESOME!

The fast load times are just because of an improvement of overall throughput to the individual user. It doesn't induce any added load on the server (aside from burst bandwidth usage, that is, but that's ok for now).
Can someone make a pic of the EC-89 for me? I'm at work and won't be home for houuuuuuurs!
