i'm no sot sure i like he ec-89 model. i mean it just doesn't say "universal starting ship" as well as the bus did.
i uderstand the idea behind the "the bus is the first ship a potental player sees when hey start their trial" argument, but i think it should be prety obvious that the first ship you see isn't going to be the best looking. and i think the old bus looked like a good generic "shuttlecraft".

I disagree. This bus still says "shuttlecraft" to me, and it doesn't look like a tonka toy.
It does however, make the rest of the ships that the players get look like a toy.

what if there was a 3rd bus type/shape made. Then EACH Nation could get it's own starter ship.
Thereīs more ships almost ready to be introduced in the game, guys, and, they will make this new bus looks like...well, a bus again
just give devs some time
Iīm working on some concepts for faction specific ships, but, not for the starting ships, I think, given the short time I have, it would be more important to have the advanced ships for each faction to be differentiated from each other
but, itīs really something to be discussed
since the ships I had "almost done" (modeled and skinned already, but, missing is the productionizing process for most of them) follows the same style of the Teradon, theylīll be probably be all TPG ships

That's why TPG is the TRUE master of the universe.
Holy crap, how many TPG ships are we going to HAVE?!?
/me thinks TPG is heading towards an EVEish monopoly on ship plans.
On a second note, what are we going to do with the existing ships? The texturing looks COMPLETELY different on Luis's ships, and the old ones. One type looks like it has grayish brown paper mache pasted all over it, the other looks sleek and metalic.

Yeah, especially with the Vult and such, its more color and plastic than the metallic and shiny-ness of the new ones. I hope they get redone with similar textures like the recent ships that came out.
Why isn't Luis getting dev l337ware such as red colour names?
Hrm, yes. Reno should get the red color names as well, methinks.
And, it seems that we have a "style" for the TPG ships, should different styles be developed for at least the Itani and Serco, if not the other factions?

TPG is "technically" the largest and foremost producer of ship hulls, therefore they already have a monopoly. The only ship hulls they do not produce (that players have access to) are the Valkyrie and Prometheus. Faction variants are made *from* hulls that TPG produces.
I think giving me red colour is on the Incīs "to do" list
Thought I would post this bug here, since I hadn't seen this before in the earlier versions.
Taking escort from Ukari L-2 to Verasi O-12. This was supposed to be a Serco escort, but instead I got TPG NPCs. That might explain the problem I encounter later...
My Behmoth heavy docks, but the other trader, my trident is still 3 systems out. Trying to figure whats taking him so long, so I backtrack to give the trident a push, and this is what I see at the Verasi wormhole.

He was getting shot up by the escorts, along with the collision detection problems. Shortly after the 3rd shot he took me and everyone else out in a firey blaze of glory. Crazy freak of nature Trident :P
After all of that the mission still completed successfully, my first escort of 4 that completed this version!

Personally, I think it's silly that TPG has a monopoly on ship designs. The Serco would take it as an insult to have to buy ship designs from TPG, and, well, the Itani would be too ashamed to even admit it.
Which is why I don't think TPG makes the Centurion, Valk, Prom, nor the Vult.
Other ships designs are also not made by TPG, forget which ones, though.
Anyway, the bug that keeps bugging me and that I will complain again is them chatlines vanishing; it seems to happen when you're warping and such, and sometime you don't see your own, or other people's, making it look at times like you're all having different, disjointed conversations (which is far from the truth at times, but this is worse). Apart from that bug (which was really a 1.5.8) bug the only other thing that seems to be failing is the TPG missions autoplotting (gone), and I hear some people even have had that problem with Trade Guild missions.

Note that I stated that the Prom and Valk are not made by TPG. From the ingame descriptions:
Centurion: The Centurion series of light fighter-interceptors, originally based on an Itani design, was derived from ships long used for flight training and aerobatics by the Order of Itan. Now widely copied...
Vulture: Relatively inexpensive and originally derived from an ancient Serco terrestrial-use design (known as the Nighthawk), it has since been copied and reinterpreted by nearly everyone.

*nearly everyone* != TPG :P

i always thought the Itani built their own ships but the SERCO and UIT used almost exclusevly TPG (TPG being part of the UIT) ships. with the exception of some high end Serco ships such as the prom.
kinda' like how the US uses mosltly fighter planes of it's own designe, whereas most other militarys use a mix of imported fighter designes.
