Is there a way to make equipping easier, such as allowing us to drag-and-drop equipment to and from our ship?
Ray would like more feedback from users of the new intel macs.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Have there been *any* reports by intel mac owning players? I'm fairly sure no one expecting one has it yet. I know StarFreeze is expecting his tues or wed.
In a station, when you buy a fast charge battery, it doesn't show up as equipped on your ship
There's a problem with the sector pilot list.
If the key that is bound to the list is on a game pad you can't close it with that button. However when I tried it with the keyboard it works just fine.

1. /Navroute generates the following LUA error, when trying to load or save a route:

4. /ignore playername and /unignore playername generate the proper respose (i.e. Ignoring Relayer or Unigoring IRC), but the actual command is never executed. The /ignore list remains unchanged.
5. twice, when using the "reload all" button, the client responded : All ammo in loacl ship purchased for ???c. The amount was given in question marks.
6. Targeting freespace cargo gives the following LUA error:

See the difference? Look at the speed and energy bars... Also, why is the mouse poitner visible?
And the new textures refers to the normal mapping on the Vulture and Warthog. The normal mapping is much more visible (ie: larger normals) on Windows/DirectX than Linux/OpenGL.

I noticed this earlier, bought a ship, bought some goodies for it, went to the equip screen, and my ship wasnt there, went to my ship screen, it didnt show in the list of bought ships. hit ESC to bring up the options menu, and then return to game, and everything was back to normal..

b. Still can't do /commands in chat...must do them in console
c. Same targeting cargo problem as Spell (Lua error) with a twist... Hostile cargo (red circle on radar)

I took a hive hunt mission on the test server and the client crashed when I entered the destination sector. It crashes every time I try to log back in as well. Here's the error log:

Got another chance to play around in B3 tonight, and discovered more than one new...
BUG:
1) After completing a trade mission, it does not end the mission automatically, and must therefore be aborted manually.
2) After aborting said mission, the station does not repopulate the mission list, showing instead only the mission you were on before.
3) When the ship heading indicator (that outer "I'm actually pointing here" circle that surrounds the inner "I wanna be pointing here" cross) is offscreen, it no longer sticks to the edge of the screen, instead going entirely offscreen and leaving you puzzled as to exactly where you're pointing for a few crucial seconds.
4) Crash on exit. Log here:

rogue:
Ah. I made the speed/energy indicators a little wider so the text under them won't clip. I'm not sure whether I like the wider ones, though.
The cursor is available because the ship doesn't have mouse focus. The chat edit box has focus. I bet if you moved the mouse in beta2 when in chat mode, the mouse cursor'll appear. If so, that's why. If not, then I know why, also.

I, for instance, don't like the wider indicator...
The wider indicators are kinda funky ^^. perhaps just making the text slightly smaller and going back to beta 2 indicators would fix the problem.
Rogue: the Windows/DirectX ship normal mapping is not "more visible" than the Linux/OpenGL textures.. Linux doesn't have tangent space normal mapping at all. I posted the explanation why (we don't link against Nvidia's cg library due to thread problems), and you replied.. so I know you read that. All you're seeing is the way Waylon drew the diffuse texture in Photoshop.
There is object-space normal mapping on the old bumpy asteroids under Linux, since that's a fixed-function pipeline feature (works on the GeForce 1), but none of the true Pixel/Vertex shader features are functional on Linux as far as I'm aware.

LoB:Yes I've turned off Shaders and I still have problems.
I've got everything in the Video Options to off or then minimum lvl. Only thing I didn't set to minimum is the resolution. If I put it lower then 800x600 I can't see everything and there are buttons off the screen. Rather annoying trying to logout when you can't find the options button in a station. I also have the Graphics Options to the minimums. I've also changed tc=1 to tc=0 like I've heard somewhere before.
Another odd little bit. When I fire my energy weps I don't see anything. I hear the sound and the batt energy drops a little but no little green energy bolts. I have the background off which may contribute but I'm not really sure until the rest of the vid problem is worked out.

Bug - When using the chat window in flight, the cursor positioning is weird when moving backwards and forwards through the text (I think it's a little bit too far to the... right? Not sure).
Linux (AMD 32), 800x600
Suggestions:
- The background (the blue) on the map screen is really giving me a headache. :S
I take it the options dialogs (grey backgrounds), and the sliders (currently drop-down boxes) will eventually change?
That said, thanks for the work. :)

@ RAY dunno if its help, but i'll get my new intel core duo iMac g5 17' on saturday (feb the 4th) or may be on weneszday if i can get outta my job earlier (my work hours is exactly the mac center's opened hours :/... too bad)
Yay:
- The Render Station in Background option actually works now. WOOT!
Awesome:
- You now get feedback in a station when you purchase something... Example: 1x of Fast Charge battery purchased for 3256c.
Oops:
- Still can't change the perspective when flying (F9 for non-alpha people, F2 for alpha people)
No bugs/crashes so far, and I agree with whoever said the client is mostly production-ready. When the station descriptions and the other missing universe-related text is finished (faction descriptions, etc.)1 you should be close to done.
Great job, you four. ^^
1 If you need help with writing the descriptions and stuff, you know where to find me, ctishman, and several others who would gladly help out. >_>

Like me! :)
But I think the transparency is not enough... see this shot:

It's hard to read. Gotta fix the transparency. Either less transparency or NO transparency.
