It's been a while since I've contacted this forum. Reason being is when they made the big economy change, I lost interest in the game. It became more of a chore to upgrade liscenses than fun.

You all may have known me better as Boing!. Yes, that lovable character was me. I so miss the old-school game.. back in the day of version 3. When meeting friends in sector 7 and 10 was the thing to do. Goof off, talk smack, watch one on one fights, see who can actually pull off solo captures. *sigh* Does anyone else miss the old gameplay. I know I do... and I would pay double what you guys require... just to play that old game again....

I just wrote back to say I miss you guys. Take care.

Hey bigun, I remember you!

Yeah of course I miss the old game, like... every day.

"There's five blues in sector 11... quick, someone go mine the flag! ;p" Or those excursions out to sector 18, trying to line up the holy roids to find the secret wormhole while fighting off furies. Good times, good times.

But Vendetta is moving on to bigger and better things. There's some very cool features in the works, and the game is still a blast to play. Remember the frigate? Well you can ride in it now and man the turrets! I personally don't like the level grind that much either, which is why my license levels are pretty low compared to how long I've been playing, but that doesn't really matter in the end. Maybe we'll get to see you around the universe again sometime.

I know, but all I'm saying is that I would pay good money for them to setup an old server... for heck... a month.... and play some old school Vendetta.

I'd better stop, I'm about to cry. :P

old server = bad idea.

I would assume people still playing like the new server... or they wouldn't be playing would they? The people who liked the old style are gone. Makes sense to me.

I'm just saying some old school action would be nice.

It's amazing how good things appear through the haze of time. I remember those times too, but it wasn't all hearts and bunnies then. Watch the website for a little bit, because the Hive and the Mission editor are about to change things.

You said that about the new economy system... all it did was make everyone dirt poor.

You said that about the new mission system... all that did was make me run around chasing drones for *HOURS* on end.

I'll watch the site and see what people say, but it seems that the near perfect game you guys had, is gone.

the near perfect game as you call it was a action FPS game that was used to test the network code and the basic game client/server.
they are trying to make a MMO, which means that there has to be depth beyond "blow stuff up", that is the direction the game is going. If you want to play quake, go play quake.

The old game sucked. The current game sucks somewhat less. The future game will hopefully suck much less.

The old game was very rarely about blowing other people up. It had more depth and drama than it does now. It just seems so dead now. I dunno, just an old player wishing he had his old game back. I'll check in with you guys later.

The new economy made you dirt poor...

Hooooooooooooooooooooooooooow?
Jul 19, 2005 bigun89 link
Ummm.... I had somewhere in the realm of 20 to 30 million credits. Which gave me time to goof off with my friends instead of worrying about running out of credits. To get that much now would take years.

One more thing... I got to know...

Does [syn]n00b still sit on his rock?

Edit:
Well, gee, Mr. Rogue, if the game is so much better now, and you hated the space quake so much, how come no-one ever sees you online anymore?
Jul 19, 2005 roguelazer link
Because I'm always on the test server?
Jul 19, 2005 Forum Moderator link
It takes a very short time to make a million credits, particularly once you level up enough to buy a Behemoth. There are several threads about how easy it is to make money. Perhaps you should come back and play a bit.

So Mr. Rogue, up until saturday (assuming you played on the test server before then, since otherwise your reply just wouldn't make any sense at all), you preferred playing Vendetta the RPG to playing Vendetta the MMORPG or even Vendetta the FPS?

Way to go!

PS: Now, don't get me wrong, I don't want to say that the old game was better, or that the new game was better, because really, how can you compare two globally different genres? So, uhm, I'll just stick to trolling and whatnot.
Jul 19, 2005 roguelazer link
No genka, up until then I prefered playing "Vendetta the I'm working most of the week so can't be online 30 hours a week", same as I am often forced to play. Just because you don't see me doesn't mean I'm not there, and doesn't mean I don't like the game. And, to answer the original question, I prefer even the worst of times in Vendetta Online to the best of times in Vendetta TEST.

Well, I see that "scrub your own brain as clean as you like!" kit is working out just fine for you.
