I AM NOT ANANZI

SL: Correct like usual.

MAJ: Centurion, Vulture, Valk. 1,2,3. Thats it, I'm coming back and making a guild called CVV, where all we can fly is Cents, Vults, Valks :P (okay, maybe not worth the 10 big ones)

RL: You think your cute and funny with your little comments but in the end, it is you who is truely most hurt inside. I'd go on but this is suppose to be a nice thread, you have once again ruined it with your comments. /ignore

zamzk zik(Gold): I really do remember you with all the terrible ummm...broken english. What happened? Look you made some perfect posts without it looking liek thise! I salute thee!

Who? me?: Yes you, are you an old time vet with a new forum name? I do wonder...I don't remember who ananzi was..hmmm. It sounds quite familiar. I almost believe the fella was Itani, maybe not. help me out here. I need a name.

In other news: About two-three weeks ago I deleted about 90% of all Vendetta related items I had. The things that I most saved were some one time classic vendetta moments with screenshots that will never happen again. Those were really good times. But everything else like the multiple versions of the bank, Vendetta Ice, Vendetta Gate, like 5 wiki backups, over 25 backups of the old forums(which actually I still have online). SQL DBs, just pages and pages of stories, logs, just the whole works. I decided that I would not need them or ever use them again so away they went. I actually sat looking at the screen of just DBs and everything for a good solid 10mins before going ahead with the deletion. I think it turned out to be a good 10GB+ of data cleared out without deleting the screenshots. Thats a lot of text and HTML :P

In the end I spent a good hour finding and deleting it all but I mean its not like the good times will fade away. I can still remember flying side by side with Lemming or a1k0n swatting us like flies with the Frigate while we tried to destroy him. Racing down the ramps in S7, dueling with Asp in S7, filling S1 with so many mines to guard our flag from the attacks to the point that if you jumped in and you weren't Blue/Itani you would be destroyed almost instantly. Holding the flag and traveling between S2 and S1 with an armed armada ready to defend from Icarus flying by and causing chaos. Endless upon endless random wars in S7 with mines, avalons, rockets, etc. Hitting the money bug which made me the richest Vendetta player ever in its history. (Can you beat Infinity +934783458945894)? :P The wonder of who Forum Moderator really was...I think most of us knew it was Whisper(not sure if I spelled this name correctly, I can't remember off the top of my head at midnight), but it was still it was still a wonder. Flying in formation to salute the NASA people that died on the columbia. Staying up to like 2/3/4 in the morning ready for that next patch to be released. Donating to Guild Software to help keep it alive. Where's Jorus? He was to come back this year from Brazil. Hiding in FiReMaGe's backpack with Lemming! (keke!) Meeting the developers in some of their drunken glory! (Uhh what?!) A great deal of us have been through a lot and a lot of us are gone and will never been seen or heard of again. Obviously there are many more stories out there to tell and remember but in the end a great deal of those were really really good times. I wonder. I really do wonder. Can we have such times ever again? (well of course, but can they be as good as back then?) Vendetta has grown, became a full on the shelf product. We've seen it through the best and worst of times. If you do ANYTHING, anything at all after reading this post, please just stop and think about your Vendetta history. Remember the good, the bad, and the ugly. I'm not saying post or anything like that with the times you remember, just think to yourself but heck if you really want to post go ahead and do so.

Missed Out?! Sounds terrible. Hmmm hosting a TeamSpeak server, I host a Vent server just between me and my RL friends while we play games together with the highest codec and it barely touches my bandwidth. Now I could try and test out TS on my network and see how much bandwidth it uses I guess. I have been meaning to try it out on my network for quite some time again so hmmm. I don't know, if you guys want to connect to it and test it out that would be great. If it uses just the same amount of bandwidth or even a little more than Ventrilo does then I could always have it running on the 24/7 server.

Hmmm...

Mr Freeze: LeberMac needs a Mac Client for Ventrilo. How does the "prototype" release work?
http://ventrilo.com/news.php?article=mac-232prototype6

I wholeheartedly encourage anybody who can to host Vendetta voice chat services.

:)

Leber: Who knows. I don't. :P

Anyhow, what I want to do if people want to be fun testers and sit on the TS server that I just setup it's at

starfreeze4.no-ip.info

I have a bandwidth logger on the server to watch the next 24-48 hours. I set it to the highest codec and we'll see what happens. If you want to use it to help test over the next day or two that would be great. If not its okay, because if you don't...eventually I'll force some friends to do it for me :P

P.S. Excuse my poor english for today, I'm just not in the ummm typing mood. Did too much of that at work today :P

as an avid watcher of someone who plays world of warcraft, id just like to say that 'team speak' is the worst invention in the history of the computer.

it is dominated by retards, idiots, people with funny voices, and dumb inside jokes. 20 percent of the traffic is people whining, 20 percent is bad jokes, and 30 percent is people saying 'read the chat log'. meanwhile, back in the chat log, in addition to the copious amounts of otaku style borderline-furry fan fic, we also have a bunch of idiots saying 'listen to teamspeak' or 'its planned on teamspeak' or 'n/m thats something we are doing on team speak'.

i curse you, volt, watt, and amp.

Is it just me, or is it really funny to see ananzi complaining about a poor signal/noise ratio? Teamspeak, like message boards & any other method of communication, can be used or abused.

Thanks for hosting that server, SF. I had been planning on setting one up, but I've been waiting for fiber to be rolled out into my neighborhood, which was scheduled for months ago, and will actually happen who-knows-when, probably next year. :-(

ananzi: Thats why Server and Channel Admins exist. To kick and ban those types of people that can't seem to ummm shut up.
