i make efforts to speak a foreign language, excuses me not to have
taken English at the school; then also make you efforts. I say, in
this moment it is not easy for the dev to work with APPLE; the
versions follow and does not resemble

you see, english isn't my first language either, thus i have my problems understanding what you mean. of course i try to find out what your question/opininon could be, but i just couldn't.

If you have a Radeon 7200 on your PC you will not have a Radar.

Try editing your config.ini file which is located in the directory where you installed Vendetta.
Look for ps_hack=0 and change it to ps_hack=1 and see if you have a Radar.
Nov 07, 2003 Tertior link
I tested all the config, but since the last update my radeon does not
take the radar ,possible , my old PC is not enough strong.
I must have my G5 Monday;
I will not use the process TRON, ouf...
Banzaiiiiiii
PS: has to follow with G5 and Panther

Yeah, there's some problems with Vendetta 3.3.4 on the mac. I haven't been able to figure out the problem yet though.
Oct 14, 2003 Whossa link
I'm having the same problem. But only since I updated to 10.2.8 on 10/11. 3.3.4 worked fine with 10.2.6. Is there anything I can do to help find the problem? I have a 15" Powerbook G4.
Oct 17, 2003 raybondo link
Tell me what video card you have would help.

Some problem. Vendetta stalls for 500ms every 1-2s. I was just coming back to see if the OSX freezes were fixed. I guess not.
Oct 29, 2003 toshiro link
this has happened to me too, i updated from 10.2.6 to .2.8 today (haven't run the updater in a long time) and got an immediate drop of about 10 fps (from previously 16-20 when looking at the s9 station to 5-10)

my video card is a radeon mobility 9000 (64 MB)
my computer is a 15.2" PowerBook, 1 GHz, 384 MB RAM.

please don't tell me you can't fix this, please!

I had a weird texture blob problem that completely obstructed my view of sector 7 the moment I warped in. You could see parts of the ship model poking through in the external camera view, but other than that I couldn't see poop. I had to restart Vendetta to get rid of it. Panther for the most part has fixed some of the bugs that I encountered in the past. But there are still a few texture bugs that persist on the Mac version, for both ATI and nVidia users.

Also, I tried to e-mail raybondo this bug report with screenshots using ray's e-mail address on the official website. Unfortunately it bounced back and the lengthy bug report was lost completely. It had other minor glitches mentioned as well. I lost my patience in rewriting the entire message and gave up. Maybe these bugs will fix themselves in future releases via OS updates. If not I'll report 'em again.

Fix those e-mail links, guys!

=(

that's what you get for not using "Mail" from Apple. there, every mail that is sent, is saved...
anyways.

i have tested this graphics bug a little more and found out that there is no countermeasure. i tried it wih various settings (from lowest to highest) and it yielded no results.

it occurs when looking at heaps of polygons to be displayed (s9 station, roid fields, roid balls).
when warping from s9 to s11, it gave me a black, star-filled sky instead of the sector loading screen.
from s11 to s17, it gave me a screen filled with moiré (like the transporter effect in Marathon).
after entering s17, there was a moiré-filled square instead of the warp gate, and flying through the roid conglomerate made my computer hiccup, drop down to <1 fps. loading sectors took extremely long, and when i exited vendetta, it crashed on me, leaving me no choice but to force-shut off my comp.

I don't have an option. I have to use some stupid web-based mail system to access my college e-mail account. Hopefully when they become more modernized that'll change.

And I also have to agree that there's really no countermeasures to take for eliminating these bugs. They just seem to occur randomly with all kinds of settings. Since both ATI and nVidia users are reporting them, I doubt it's a GPU issue. Could it be OpenGL maybe?
Oct 30, 2003 toshiro link
hmmm... as i did not encounter fps drops in other games using opengl, it cannot be linked to opengl itself, IMO.
of course, i do not know enough about this to make any valid statement.

about the mail stuff:
there are many free mail service providers :)

Tosh, he's using something like AngelFire, or another server/client LAN piece of software. It's like HotLine, you can't use your Browser to access HL servers.

hmm... true that.
oh well, i guess i'm happy to have dsl ;)

Try the new Vendetta 3.3.5 to see if it's fixed.
Please try it. I would like to know.

However there seems to be a bug where some textures aren't loaded, so you may get a white object. Switching texture res or window->fullscreen mode and back should fix the bug.
Nov 01, 2003 Whossa link
I briefly tried 3.3.5. I haven't seen any of the problems so far. Sorry, I don't know how to find out what card I have. System Profiler says:

Card Type - ATY,DDParent
Card Name - ATY, XiaParent
Card Model - ATY, RV250M9
Card ID - 1002

And I know there is 64MB of video ram.

Based on my short visit, it seems to be fixed anyway. Hope so. Thanks

i had twice the occurrence of sudden and drastic framerate drops, which could be remedied by relogging (turning rlgow off and on did not help).

my setup is: radeon mobility, 32 MB on a 1 GHz 15.2" Ti PowerBook

Wow. I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems. I submitted a bug report that questioned whether the OS X client had a memory leak. It seems like the best explanation right now, since it happens progressively and goes away upon restart. The effect of FPS droppage appears to be cumulative rather than spontaneous. It looks like something in the background is getting unnecessarily piled up for each new sector you load up, causing a huge strain on performance as you keep playing. Could it be sounds? Textures? Models? Memory allocation?
