um, can you look at my thread? It's basically the same thing, but NT doesn't have a direct link to Itani's home system. My thread is here:

It wasn't a big hitter a week or two ago when I posted it, but it's the same general idea as this thread, just a more reasonable link between systems.
and also, now it's just below this thread on the "Suggestions" board. the "another Universe suggestion" board.

Tactically speaking, it would be a huge *disadvantage* to the NT to have a wh from Dau to Itan. Already NT has the fewest systems of all three nations, and it has the highest border/system ratio. Forgive the analogy, but anyone who has played risk knows that this means it's hard to defend. Connecting Dau to Itan would make Nyrius the NT's *only* system that was not also a border. Not to mention making Itani's homeworld more vulnerable as an international border.
True, NT is not technically at war with Serco or Itani, but what about individual players who become K.O.S. with Itani? Intertwining the NT and Itani territories not only means even fewer safe places to hide for NTs on low standing with the Itani, it also practically guarantees a virtual alliance between the Itani and the NT, especially if they have direct access to each other's homeworlds.
If anything, what about linking Cantus and Itan, so Itani space is no longer just a straight line, but also not creating any new international borders?
Or how about just trusting that the devs have a reason for setting up the universe the way they did, and waiting to see what they have planned?

Speaking as a player here, I agree wholeheartedly with Phaserlight. The devs have set the map up as it is for a very specific reason - which remains to be seen. Connecting Itan with a system that is not under Itani contol would also place the Itani at a disadvantage, I might add. Notice that the "home" sectors are surrounded by sectors under the control of their respective nations? CTF is gone, but what ELSE might be in store?
forum moderator, i love you ^-^

New request, old petition. I'll second Celkan's request.
The first one was used way back when the vulture had horns. (Before the test went public)
