Currently, Corvus turns a blind eye to most violations in their space at worse temporary kill on sight(with docking privileges intact)
I find this odd, and very inconsistent. No other factions function in this manner, and the result of which are imbalances and situations which are unreasonable. Such as easy TempKoS removal(sethome+EC-89+/explode) which defeats the entire purpose.
I have a few ideas on how to resolve this problem, naturally.
- Disallow players with TempKoS to sethome
- Instead of flagging the pilot as the KoS expired on death, introduce a timer(15mins or some other arbitrary value)
- Disallow players with TempKoS to dock
Violations should result in the regular factional losses as well, at the moment the only way I know of losing Corvus standing is the failure of missions.

Corvus loves everyone, and everyone is allowed to dock there. Where would someone dock if they are KOS with their home nation? Even if someone is -1000 corvus, they should be allowed to dock (is it even possible to go -1000?)
Now that said: /exploding should not clear a corvus TKOS. With corvus it should be a hard 15 minutes. Pilots will still be able to dock, but if they come out by mistake(or on purpose because yarr), the guards will be all over them.

Any other non-KoS faction would be happy to accept them if they are KoS in their home nation.
@Pand
I beat you to posting the thread by an hour, Whistler should lock and direct people here, I enjoy your reactionary -1 though XD

I dont think you are paying whistler salary or something
And
I dont think whistler will just lock/delete mine threads ,

The issue is, it is possible to be KOS with every nation and sub faction. When this happens, corvus is there to make sure every pilot has a roof over their head. When i think of Corvus I think of:
. "Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

I'm pretty sure Latos M-7(I'm aware is Corvus) or the upcoming "Dynamic Capital Station" can serve that role just fine.

I don't object to the basic concept of making Corvus standings more dynamic. I do think they should maintain their no-fucks-given attitude toward violence, however. Corvus standings should be lost based on how much you help nations and other goody-goody types, not on whether you kill people Corvus "cares" about.
My vote for how to handle spawning when nobody likes you is to spawn in a random chunk of the maze with your ship at 1%. Completing the maze would not record your time (since you're not starting from the beginning) but would repair your ship. If you go out the right end, anyway.

I'm going to +1 this because everyone else is -1 this

this would remove all the cool station fights
this would remove all the cool station fights
How would this remove station fights? Regardless if I am KoS/Cannot Dock I can still kill you at the stations without issue :P
Yes, we want you to kill us, now leave corvus alone.
Hot caps abuse btw.

If every faction hates you, and you die, there needs to be at least one place that you can buy a ship. At this time, that one place is corvus.
The easiest way for you to fix this issue, for yourself, is for you to not visit corvus stations. Yes. I think that would completely solve the problem.

Well, removing corvus will be simpler to implement.

Actually I think removing all that content would take a lot longer.

Not true. There only needs to be a mechanism by which you and a ship are inserted back into the universe so that you can continue playing. It is not a requirement that you actually purchase that ship, that you have any choice over which ship you are given, nor that you obtain the ship inside a station.
For example, you could be spawned in a random empty sector in greyspace inside an EC-88 with a free cell and a gov blaster.
